it's not supposed to be working that way but you have like 20 spirit emblem at max and you can use dagger that sacrifice your hp in-exchange for 5 spirit emblem and for each use umbrella only cost 1 spirit

one spirit emblem. rotation of the umbrella will cost 1 extra.

I use the umbrella to defeat Isshin that's my only way to win the fight.

20+5 +5 +5 is good enough to win the fight. I will consume around 12 to win.

There's a mod that grant you infinite spirit emblem but there is also a combat attack Mortal Blade that requires spirit emblem except allows you to use it without spirt emblems for lesser range and damage.
