Anything else to do before NG+?
I beat "Sekiro" for the first time yesterday and got the "Severed Immortality" ending. Are there any high-priority things I should do before bouncing to NG+?

I beat the 5 Headless and 3 Warriors, unlocked all the skill trees, got the Dragon Mask, and got 6 Lapis Lazuli. I got all the Prayer Beads, except for 2 that were permanently missable. To be honest, I probably also goofed on any NPC quests that were permanently missable. I killed the Snake, the Demon, and the Carp.

check the budda box near immortal training guy at temple.
collect all prayer beeds, gourd seeds and tools.
kill all bosses, mini-bosses and headless/shichimen.
buy dragon mask pieces.
get all possible lapis lazuli.
grab all fluminated mercury and farm the cannon dude at gun fort idol for it by using demon bell and item drop buff ballons (unless you don't need any of it anymore ofc).
harvest all the carp scales possible.
have at least one rice.
maybe farm some permissons from monkes if u like to use em.
buy some booze if you care about few lines of lore from NPCs.
that's about it.

No, there is nothing more to do if you have done all those. The 2 prayer beads that you have missed, you can get them in NG+, i.e. the 2nd playthrough. And in the NG+, go for the Shura Ending. This will get you ALL the bosses remnants in your inventory. Provided that you have not played the game with your Steam account being offline, whether intentionally or accidentally (it happens from time to time), you should get the Men without Equal achievement. But going for the Shura Ending will mean that you have no access to FountainHead district and hence the rest of the lazulite crystals required to fully upgrade your prosthetic tools, hence no achievement. You will have to play NG+2, a 3rd playthrough to go for any of the 3 endings excluding Shura Ending. Not sure if this is what you want. But good luck and have fun.
Once you get all the achievements, why not play the game from scratch but gives back the Kuro's Charm this time. You may like the challenge. :)

Thanks all!

I'm playing the 2nd loop now. It's crazy all the "oh yeah, that guy!" moments that make more sense knowing what eventually happens.

Why, because of the soft cap? TBH I'm sitting on about 12 unused skill points right now, just because I haven't felt a pressing need for the leftover skills or the attack power.

Attack power is cap at 99. But you may have already learnt that as your attack power increase, enemies are stronger. The higher the attack power is, the diminishing return will be greater. From my experience, Sekiro is most powerful when his attack power is in the region 20 -30 in vanilla games. In NG+ games, the enemies are also increased in health and damage by definition, extra works are required to secured a kill. What aaronig meant, or rather, from my experience, don't waste your skill points with the mask until you have upgraded all your skill trees in full. Don't believe some of the Youtube videos showing the effects of having 99 attack power. MOD(s) were involved most likely.

Not before maxing out every skill tree.
Especially the Mushin arts one with the secret techniques. In this one, Get "Spiral Cloud Passage" first for funny boss melting (with Bestowal Ninjutsu buff), and leave "Empowered mortal draw" for last, because slower than a jumping "Mortal Draw".

Doing ng+x cycle over and over to kill (all) bosses is way effective and funnier than farming 5 skill points to get 1 AP.
The game is balanced so that, at each point, in any ng cycle, you'll have when facing a boss a suitable attack power. It will be just as difficult as in the "Reflections of Strength"

Skill points at high level take stupid time to get, so never waste them and never farm them. However, always make sure before difficult encoutners that your ongoing xp bar is filled and "saved" into a point (i.e. don't rely on "Unseen Aid" rng)
