Where should i save to experience all endings?
I know that there are several endings to Sekiro, but i'm not sure at which point does the path diverge... can someone suggest at which point do i keep a save to come back to it and take a different path? preferably without spoilers...

Once after the world state changes and you made it to the top of the tower where you fought a boss that that you can use lightning reversal on before talking to the guy that now occupies that arena. (the new guy there is REALLY big guy you can't miss it and know you need to save)

The other savepoint you need is after the final boss before talking to the NPC after you killed the final boss.

However the above info assumes you do every sidequest for items that generate endings .

ok i'm not sure if the REALLY big is a sarcasm but this is where i am
i did beat the lightning guy, talked to really small guy Kuro and went after guardian ape and killed it as well, i have the flower, i also quickly visited the are with the ghosts and weak creature in the house, killed it and all the ghosts disappeared...

Should i have made a save earlier? or do i continue and there will actually be a really big guy? )

I'm about the same point you are, what the Rhazael guy is talking about happens a bit further down the line from the point we're at with guardian ape and that house area with the ghosts. unless I'm mistaken what he's talking about is shortly after mibu village area, which is right after the house area with the ghosts.

you are still good, i'm trying not to spoil and didn't know how far you were, where you've beaten Genischiro you'll face another boss later in the game at that same arena. (trust me, you will know when the world state changes)

Which boss you're fighting depends on what you tell the guy that 's there, one of those replies will end the game.

So before you talk to the guy that 's now in Genichiro's arena you make a save, that splits the game for you into : Ending the game right there or continuing further down the line

As for the items needed for the different endings, you might want to consult a guide and compare notes on which items you've collected and which ones you can collect still and where during which timeline, I tackled all the items before I advanced further, not sure if picking up the white flower locks out some ending if you didn't get it before picking it up.

I apologize first for what I am going to say as it will be long and you may know some of them already.
The save game mechanism of Sekiro is this. Whenever you start a NEW game, a "Profile" is created. So, let say if you start a new game 3 times, when you select "LOAD", you will see 3 "Profiles". You cannot give each a name. But each will display the Vitality points and Attacking Power points you are at. So, let say, you have selected the 1st profile in which your vitality points is 10 and attack power is 1 as you have just started a brand new game. While playing this game, everytime you use any of the idol or whenever you see a blue flame showing up at the top right corner of your screen, a saved game is created and it will overwrite the previous saved game. Please remember, this is the saved game for this profile.
If you have selected the 2nd "profile" at the "LOAD" screen, when playing it, everytime a saved game being created is only for this profile. It will not affect the saved game of the other profile. I hope I explain the concept well enough for you to understand.
Back to your request. The best way to do it, is to do a "manual save" i.e. back up of the saved game. I am guessing that you are a PC gamer. The location of the saved game files is:
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Sekiro\nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
n is a number. The folder name is a 17 digits number. There are 3 files in there. Ignore the Steam file. Copy and paste the other two files to a folder. Give it a name so that you know at what stage of the game you are at. For instance, you are going to face the Guardian Ape (I know you have already defeated it but I use it as an example to show what to do). At the nearest Idol, you rest. This will triggered a saved game file as you will see the blue flame appearing at the top right hand corner next to your XP bar. Now, press Esc, then Option, then Quit. Then you are back to the main menu. You don't need to exit the whole game. Now, Alt+Tab to desktop. Go to the saved game location as shown above. Then copy the two relevant files. Create a new folder on your desktop, give it a name, 30Mar22_PreGuardianApe (I am in the UK hence the date format). Paste the copied files in there. Now, Alt+Tab back to Sekiro. Now, click Continue. Now fight it. Let say you die twice. You will respawn at the Idol. Now, press Esc. Options, Quit. Alt+Tab to desktop. Go to the folder 30Mar22_ReGuardianApe and copy the two files to the saved game location of Sekiro. When it is done. Alt+Tab back to Sekiro the game. Now click Continue. You are back to the moment before you fought the Ape and died.
So, if you are worried about making the wrong choice and don't want to play the game from start, this is the way to go. Of course, there are MODs but I don't use MOD and they are by 3rd party.
If you want to find your way through the game in your own way, ignore the following. Go to FightinCowboy's Youtube channel and watch his 100% walkthrough series. There are two spots where you would have to use the aforementioned method so you can make one choice, finish the game. Then reload the files. Make the other choice, and so on.
The fact that you have the flower, it changed the state of Ashina Castle. You don't lose anything important. Maybe one mini-boss for their prayer beads to upgrade your vitality. If you are not worried about that, then just carry on. Oh, the enemies will be even stronger in the Ashina Castle area. Episode 20 and 29 are where this file restoring method are used. Hope this help. Have fun and good luck.

Thank you very much that clears up things, however i just went back to ashina castle, nothing is changed there... same enemies

does anyone know what am i missing, which minibos? i think i have a previous save but i will loose a whole days of grind...

i tried to find a guide online that explains how to get all endings in one playtrough but no mention of things like "dont do ape yet" or dont do this or that...
lily40k 30 MAR 2022 a las 2:17 p. m.
i'm considering to reset to before ape save... but i need some way to know what to do in which order to see all endings...

I am going for all upgrades/skills all bosses... want to 100% this game
lily40k 30 MAR 2022 a las 2:59 p. m.
ok so i was reading a guide for platinum it says you cant do anything wrong until killing both ape and monk... i only killed the ape but not the monk...

The ashina castle did not change, everything is still the same, i suppose the change is very significant and not subtle right?

Can i continue with my save or shall i reset before ape? is there any guide that outlines exact path how to go about the game to not miss anything?

In order to tell you more, I will have to give out tons of spoilers. So, I won't give out the answer until you say go ahead. Do you know how many endings in this game?

yeah please go ahead, sorry for too many questions
i'm ok with knowing what is going to happen as long as i dont have to watch it actually on youtube... so telling is fine to me, i just dont want to watch some guide doing all of it )
Alexoferith 30 MAR 2022 a las 3:08 p. m.
Oh, one thing about the achievements, if you are going for 100% achievements, I believe that is platinum, all of them are really story based, i.e. you cannot really miss them. Since you have retrieved the flower, can you tell what main and mini-bosses you have defeated up to that point?
One thing for sure, you HAVE to play through the game at least TWICE to get all the achievements and that requires the manual backup and restore tactics as described above. Otherwise, you will have to play the game... oh spoilers?
lily40k 30 MAR 2022 a las 3:17 p. m.
Ok so i'm looking at the Man Without Equal trophy and bosses listed there... i'll put all names and if i beat that one, so we can both see which boss i miss...

+ Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa
+ Lady Butterfly
+ Genichiro Ashina (not the prologue encounter)
- Folding Screen Monkeys
- Corrupted Monk
- True Corrupted Monk
+ Guardian Ape
+ Headless Ape // i'm guessing this is the second stage of the ape?
- Great Shinobi Owl
- Owl (Father)
- Emma, the Gentle Blade (Shura Ending)
- Isshin Ashina (Shura Ending)
- Divine Dragon
- Demon of Hatred
- Sword Saint, Isshin Ashina

There were a bunch of other miniboses that i did kill, but i always skipped the abberation type bosses...

i'm looking at this https://psnprofiles.com/guide/8525-sekiro-shadows-die-twice-trophy-guide#2-roadmap

it basically says you can even kill the 2 important bosses but do not get the items, as items are the triggers that change the city...

Alexoferith 30 MAR 2022 a las 5:15 p. m.
No, Headless Ape listed there is not referring to the 2nd stage of Guardian Ape. Headless Ape, is the infamous double apes bosses!!! The Headless ape has 2 red dots, i.e. 2 lives or 2 phases. After you defeat the 1st phase, it will call out its mate so you have to face TWO apes, one is headless and one is a brown ape but with its head on. However, the 2nd one is much weaker than the Headless ape.
Ok, to recap, you have reached the Hidden Forest and removed all the fog hence the spirits there. I presume you have reached the Mibu Village, no? At the end of Mibu Village is where you will find Corrupted Monk (the spirit one). This monk is guarding the entrance to another area.
Ok, since you have retrieved the flower, all idols of Ashina Castle is grey out except the Idol of entrance to abandoned dungeon. Or have you not visited this idol during the first time you arrived at Ashina Castle? If not, we are in big trouble.
Spoiler here. Basically, if you go back to Ashina Castle, well, you are meant to, no? Have Kuro talked to you about "the Flower"? If so, now you have found it, so you would be expected to report back to him. Hence, finding a route to get back up there is a must but is it a priority? The answer is yes to one ending. The ending that most reckons to be the worst ending. Well, since it is only a game, I say it is the coolest ending as Sekiro will become Shura, the devil himself. When you finally found your way back to the top of Ashina Castle where you have defeated Genichiro. This time, you will meet Owl, your foster father. Before you talk to him. Quit the game and save the game. Oh yes, I forgot. I am really sorry. I forgot to tell you that whenever you select to Quit the game from the Options menu. A saved game is automatically created. So, quit (and hence save) the game. Now, use the manual backup method as described previously. Give a name something like "31Mar22_PreShura" to the new folder specifically created for the two saved game files. Then back into Sekiro, Owl will eventually ask you the question. There are only two choices. 1st one is for Shura ending. The 2nd one will give 3 other endings eventually. For Shura ending, you have to face Emma and then Isshin Ashina one after the other. If you get killed by Isshin, then you have to go through Emma again. There is no option to rest after Emma. But there is a few seconds, about 5 seconds I think after you defeat Emma for you to heal and using any sugar to buff up. Then the cutscene will start and Isshin comes into play.
Hmm... I just thought of something. You want to go for all the achievements. Once you killed Emma and Isshin, the game will end there. If you select to manually restore the saved game files back to point just before talking to Owl, you will not have the remnants of Emma and Isshin. To get the Without Equal trophy, you have to have all 15 remnants in your inventory. This is a must. Also, make sure that your Steam account is online when you are playing Sekiro. If you play Sekiro offline as quite a few gamers do for various reasons (one of them was poor internet connection in certain countries), there is a known bug in Sekiro. It won't register your kill or kills done during your Steam account being offline even when your Steam account is back to online status. I found this out by chance when I read the developer's replied to one gamer here. Although it was back in 2019, the bug had never been fixed because the Dev was blaming the Steam Client and Steam was blaming the game. So, don't play Sekiro with your Steam account in offline mode! Back to Without Equal Trophy, after getting Shura ending, it will be better to start a NG+ game. Now, in the NG+ game, you will have all the combat arts you have learnt and available for use even in the Prologue of a NG+ game. Oh, you won't have the mortal blade as it is a story based item so you won't have Mortal Draw in your combat art. Hang on a second, you haven't got the mortal blade yet at this moment. Ignore what I have just said about mortal blade and mortal draw, hehe...
However, I am slightly worried that you may not be powerful enough to face Emma and especially Isshin. But then again, you only need double Ichimonji and firecrackers to deal with both of them, definitely firecrackers for Isshin to shut down all his special attacks where he will shoot out fire with his swords. If you keep close to him and use the firecrackers, you can interrupt and hence stopping him from using any of his special attacks. But both fights require you to have decent parry skills. You can use block but both of them have chain attacks which will result in your posture bar building up if you block all the time. Once your posture is broken, both of them will one shot kill you.
When I play through Sekiro the first time, I selected to restore the game i.e. not going for the Shura ending. I went through the Shura ending just to see what Emma and Isshin were like. I got totally destroyed of course. Eventually I got through but I restored the game and use that game to carry on to get the other 3 endings. And then I used the final ending to start a NG+ game for the Shura ending. By then, I had got the prosthetic tools to the final level, leaving just two items to be fully upgraded. Oh, dear, I just realized something. It took me 3 playthrough to get ALL the achievements, not 2 because of this prosthetic tool full upgrade trophy. You see, there are only 6 lazurite crystals available in each playthrough. And you cannot farm these lazurite crystal. You have to buy them, 2, with carp scale. Then killing Demon of Hatred will drop 2. Killing the shichimen warrior at FountainHead drops 1. Finally doing a task for the Pod paddler in Harrata Estate will get 1.
To get to FountainHead, you need mortal blade, then a few dialogues with Kuro before he will use his blood (need mortal blade) to burn the flower with the stone found in the cave after defeating the corrupted monk in Mibu Village. So you will not be able to get to FountainHead after Shura ending as Kuro is not available after Shura ending.
Bacially, if you don't want to play the game 4 times to get all 4 endings, after getting Shura ending, start a NG+, kill all the bosses (except Emma and Isshin Ashina) and get all the relevant items for all 3 endings. Oh, you will have to get certain dialogues first to trigger the next event, including eavesdropping on the relevant characters, including Kuro (twice or 3 times), Isshin, Emma and Sculptor. After killing the final boss, Isshin Sword Saint, talk to Kuro (lying on the ground), you will get 3 choices in the dialogue. Each gives an ending. You only get 3 if you gather all the relevant items. If you see 2, you can go back to the point prior to facing the final fight using the manual restore method, provided you have back up the saved game file each time before facing a big fight.
Again, you will have a much better picture if you watch Fightincowboy's Sekiro 100% walkthrough series of Youtube videos. For you, watch episode 20 and then 29 n 30. It will give you better understanding of what I have been saying.
Again, I apologize for such a long post. But I do hope it is useful to you. Good luck and have fun.

I would not bother with save states. To fully complete Sekiro (that is, kill every boss available), it is required that you complete both major endings on a single save file. Completing certain routes will unlock different options for Sekiro's boss rush mode, Gauntlet of Strength.
One of the gauntlets is a rundown of almost all of Sekiro's bosses in a single go (14 fights in all). There is no reward for completing this gauntlet other than the intrinsic sense of accomplishing this task.
The other three are Gauntlets of shorter length that each terminate in a unique, harder variant of a boss from the main story that awards you with an attack-up Memory and a unique prize.

And to get all the achievements, the longest one to complete is the one for purchasing all Skills. You'll naturally hit this point if you run through four playthroughs on a single save file.
