Major FPS drops in Lady Butterfly fight
I've not had any graphical issues playing on high for most of the game so far, but when I got to the Lady Butterfly boss fight, my FPS dropped to around 15 and nothing I could do in the graphical settings seemed to fix it.
Is there any sort of solution to this? And for that matter, are there any other major boss-fights where I should watch out for severe lag?

Are you using PS4 controller wired ?
If so,then that's what is causing the lag..

Try to set shadows/lighting/reflection settings to medium ,disable SSAO/depth of field
keep anything else on high .
I had a similar issue, and that's what i have done to solve it...

What exactly does the "depth of field" thing do? I thought it determined how far away I can see things. Is it not that?
I tried setting basically everything down to Medium that could go to Medium except for Depth of Field since I didn't want to lower my view range... but it didn't work.

Depth of Field does not determine how far you can see,it actually does the opposite by giving you that camera focus effect.Setting it to off will give you better view.
Sorry to hear nothing has worked, can you please put your specs here so we can try to figure out the problem

Oh. Okay. I've turned it off now. Motion Blur is also off, as usual. And I turned Volumetric quality to low because I just hate volumetric fog in general.

That is... embarrassing.
I... have one of those bloody awful Alienware Aurora R10 prebuilt comps. An act of desperation. I'd rather not go into details...

nothing embarrassing about it,this game isn't demanding anyway,i just have an assumption that something wrong is going on with the settings ,and all the solutions i have given you are things that have worked for me personally. If it is one of the latest R10 desktops then you should be able to run the game maxed out with no issues, unless there is something wrong going on your pc background.

Last solution, set your pc power plan to max performance .

Incidentally, I'm not really in any position to check if these things worked. I managed to beat the boss before posting, eventually. But I'll find out on some other boss, I'm sure... or on NG+.

That one room is the most intensive in the entire game, because it's full of fire particles. Turn down your particle quality in graphics and you should get a considerable frame boost in there.

I figured that was the case, but none of the graphical settings are labelled as particle stuff. I thought it might be the one just called "effects", but I couldn't be sure.
