Anyone play Sifu? How it compares to Sekiro?
The games are very different of course, but from what I've seen, there's plenty of similarities too.

I'm thinking of buying the game even though I don't have EGS account. Does it feel at least half as good as playing Sekiro?

I only saw Sifu on Youtube. To cut a long story short, it is not as stylish as Sekiro. In any case, I think Sifu followed along the line of Dark Soul series. One can dodge through attacks. But the dodge moves are not as clean as Sekiro. From the videos, I thought the player would get hit even he or she dodged because the close distance. But, yes, if you like Dark Soul kind of games, it is very similar. The only difference is that they are all humans. No magical colossal bosses. :)

I don't think you are right.

In fact, I decided to buy the game, and just went through the first mission. The gameplay couldn't be more different from Dark Souls.

You have a posture bar, and so do the enemies. You can do parries and takedowns (= deathblows), which is why I initially thought of Sekiro.

But it's much more difficult than Sekiro, because you can't just press the same button over and over to win. There are directional dodges (left, right, down) for different attacks, which you have to learn, because there are unparriable attacks just like in Sekiro.

Then there are all the different combos, which you also have to learn, because mashing buttons doesn't help. You can also grab and throw people.

In any case, it's kinda similar to Sekiro, but has nothing to do with Dark Souls.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed my first experience, going to try and beat the game.

Ah, sorry. They have borrowed Sekiro's combat system and make it more complicated. I am not saying it is bad. It is not my cup of tea, just like TheCaptainGhost said. What make Sekiro a great game is that Miyazaki had kept it simple and yet, f**king difficult to play LOL.
SIFU, as you has described, there are many moves by different combination of keys and buttons. No wonder there is no PC port for it. Hmm, strange. controller can be used on PC as well.
Incidentally, I have just saw a video where someone installed a MOD on SIFU making John Wick as the main character. Wow, that is cool. LOL I wonder if there is copyright issue there or not. So get it quick if you are a John Wick fan. I am. That was pretty cool. John Wick in SIFU.

I haven't played it but it does seem to be inspired by certain elements of Sekiro like the posture meter and punishment for dying mechanic (except there it actually matters), however seeing how it's epic turd store only I don't mind waiting until or if it gets released on steam. If not, whooptee doo.

Sifu is available for PC, just not on Steam. Yet another exclusive.
