But so is ako's because thats 25% posture damage increase and a 12.5% health damage increase. Or if you're really good, Yashariku's is double Ako's in power boost but you have 50% less hp, so you'll probably die in one hit.
Stack Yashariku and divine confetti, you can do 50% more health damage for about a minute.
Personally, I think the game is fairly easy if you take your time to farm items and read and understand what your tools can do. Fistful of Ash is ridiculous. You can stunlock some bosses with it. Oil + flame vent to burn enemies in one attack. The umbrella has about a full second of deflecting for each spin of it, meaning you can deflect multiple hits very easy. So like those guys that spin their weapon in your face, you can deflect every attack with a spin or two. The firecracker is extremely strong against certain bosses. The spear lets you rip the bug out of the guardian ape's neck hole and rip the armor off of a few minibosses. The Drunkards. Some enemies are extremely weak to poison so sabimaru can make them extremely easy, the enemies in the fountainhead palace for example. The shuriken knocks enemies out of the air. A key thing about the umbrella is that with projected force, it can throw out a projectile after deflecting 3 hits. Upgraded versions of tools also come with benefits. Like phoenix umbrella lets you inflict fire damage, not enough to set them on fire though, which against red eyed enemies will stagger them immediately regardless.
There can be some clever use of divine abduction and the finger whistle.
Or, if you play without "exploiting" all your tools and items, the game can definitely be difficult.
i still don't understand what kuro's charm does, is it harder with having it(icon below hp bar) or giving it back
You have the Kuro's charm by default. Once you complete a play through, when you start a new game or NG+, the first time you meet Kuro, you will be asked if you want to give it back. If you don't give it back, you still have the chance to give it back at Sculptor's home whenever you talk to him.
Giving back the Kuro's charm make all the enemies stronger in both health and posture. Your stats will not change but it sure looks like that you deal less damage from the on screen information, i.e. their posture and health bar. Also if you block an attack, you will lose both health and posture. And if you mistime a deflect, you will find that your health is "chipped" away, so is your posture. I just completed a play through without the Kuro's charm and equipped with the Demon Bell, I always had the dilemma, the yellow or the red sugar before facing a boss. Playing without the Kuro's charm is almost like playing Sekiro the very first time as you have to learn to deflect perfectly. I died so many times facing those lowly minions. Sigh. But it was so so satisfying when defeating O'rin after two days.

Even if you deflect every attack, you still need to worry about posture. To be fair, I didn't know Wolf's posture couldn't be broken through a deflect (thanks, Wiki), but having a maxed posture bar still isn't a good idea. I don't want to be in a position where I instantly die if my timing is slightly off, especially during enemy combo attacks. Gokan removes that danger almost entirely, and practically for free.
The other candies are strong, too, but the offensive ones are only good if you're already confident and you just want to speed up the battle. Ungo's and Gokan's have similar usage (reducing the damage you take), but Ungo's Spiritfall costs 2 instead of 1. I guess they thought taking less health damage was more important than taking less posture damage... but ideally, my posture gets hit a lot more often than my health.
I play primarily only using the sword, but I do that to make the game easier not harder. I don't like relying too much on finite resources, Ash included, and most of the tools come out pretty slow. I usually default to Mist Raven. I'll reach for a tool if the counter is very obvious (fire vs redeye, cracker vs animal, umbrella vs grabs), but I've found the game easy enough if I just do normal deflects. When I fought Guardian Ape for the first time, for instance, it only took me about 3 tries to beat it, and I only used Gokan's for the second part of the fight. Same thing for Owl and real Corrupted Monk. Spammed Gokan's, won within a few tries.

Ah, yes, "avoid additional hardships", when selected, the Kuro's charm will be handed back to you. Please bear in mind that Japanese grammar is slightly different from English grammar. And that always infiltrate into the literal meaning of their phrase.
A simple statement like: I am British. But in Japanese, the sentence is constructed this way: I British is. I learned Japanese for a month when I was a teen, well, for obvious reason that you can guess, all those manga. Anyway, I didn't continue after that as I discovered girl at the time. hehe.
To be sure if you are playing in difficult mode, just look at your health or rather Vitality bar. Is there a Kanji underneath your health bar under normal circumstances, i.e. not taken any sugar, or got poisoned, etc.? That Kanji actually means "difficult". And of course, as you have done, the charm is not in your inventory.
If you do not give Kuro's Charm away, you will not be able to give it away to the Sculptor. If you select the option to take it back from the Sculptor, you will not be able to give it back for the remainder of the current playthrough.
