I believe you can also stack them with Divine Confetti for an even higher attack boost, especially against apparition enemies.
Also never really used the Yashaguri because it cuts away some of your health.
Ako is not only useful for enemies that cant block. You also inflict more posture damage, so if you wanna kill an enemy with a more agressive playstlye use ako. I often used it for these tank like enemies from the red guard. One is where the note for the first headless is the other one overlooking the courtyard where the last chained ogre is pacing around.
Gokan is for a more defencive playstyle. I used all my gokan sugar in Saint Isshins 2nd phase because good parry is the key to win this fight. Also for orin of the water its useful.
gachiin is usefull to get rid of the second general to fight the second ashina speer or also to clear out the burning outskrits with stealth in late game.
Ako I only use on Demon of Hatred whose fight I find very boring and takes forever, otherwise I don't feel like it's worth the trouble of maintaining.
I have never used the other ones.
But with the Gachiin you can puppet his ally and have them fight vile hand alongside you.
