it's an extremely punishing game, but a fromsoftware game is never a game that is "too hard" to play. it doesnt give you room to mess up and brute force your way through the game, you will die. you will die a lot. you will die on bosses, and get off for the day. you'll die to enemies that are hard to predict, and get off for the day. you'll die embarrassing deaths due to the environment, and get off for the day. the upside? every death is a step closer to understanding how to get better. the game will physically not let you take a shortcut due to its difficulty. it's satisfying to conquer, but if you're simply not up for a challenge that is very possible to overcome, don't sign up for it.

Just bought and played less than 2 hours. Got stuck at the general after fighting the dogs in the beginning. I don't have what it takes to play this game. The fun ran out as well as my perseverance to continue when I found out you lose half of everything you gained each time you die and further get punished by other negative effects. I can see how rewarding this game can be if you keep trying, but I don't have the desire to keep trying and trying until I master each mechanic. This game rewards you for mastery and not messing up your timing. I wouldn't say its too difficult, but rather the game play style is not for me. Never played any souls game either and after trying Sekiro I probably never will.

super respectable way to put it. i would say dark souls 3 is significantly easier than sekiro, but if the souls difficulty isnt your speed, take what this guy said and pass onto a genre that interests you more

It doesn't feel the same as dark souls parrying.
I was skeptical like you as well, the combat feel good.
Try it out, and if you don't like it you can always refund.
You get into combat pretty quick after starting.

I bought it awhile ago full price and refunded. Might pick it up again on this sale. It's pretty difficult to get a hang of the combat, but my biggest issue was the incredibly awkward camera angles.

When you really nail the combat it's really satisfying.
