I dont think that's true, been playing at 144 with the mod on and it's fine. I think it's the case for Bloodborne but not the others.
Playing at 60 guarantees you won't run into problems like clipping off map and such. Going above 60 doesn't make it immediately problematic, just that it will not be guaranteed you'd have no problem
So i never saw a problem here.

having more than 60 fps the gameplay looks smoother and also feels smoother which makes sense as it will have less input lag. I can't stand 60 fps locks, games have a sluggishness to them. Some people mostly console players who are used to it don't notice it as much as life long pc fps players.
