Skipping a Boss

In the beginning when you as Sekiro come out of the well and receive your sword and proceed thru a gauntlet of enemies and encounter a boss. I got tired of being killed so I ran around him and finished the intro. Was rehabbed by the sculptor and killed the first boss. Will this effect me later in the game? Did I miss anything that will be necessary later in the game?

When I was considering whether to buy the game the choice was between another Steam title or a console. The price was the same, but if you looked at my Library you know that I have approximately 67 titles in my library. So you can see I'm a gamer. Some titles I have on both platforms. And have completed them on both platforms. Some I have read the prequel scifi novel. After reading the discussion I decided it would take longer than 2 hrs. to evaluate the game. So I took the risk and will try to develop the patience and skills necessary to finish the game. Thanks for replying and allowing me to contribute my opinion.

Also ... Your profile is private, I cant see what games you have or how many, but I know you dont have the game anymore as the mouse icon, that indicates at the forum you own the game, does not show by your Steam name.

The general and the tutorial boss are basically the same in how you can beat them. The general is just more aggressive, but beyond that there is little difference between them except maybe one more move in their available attacks.

Besides, if you surprise attack the general to start with you only have to get through one round of him.

The general and the tutorial boss are basically the same in how you can beat them. The general is just more aggressive, but beyond that there is little difference between them except maybe one more move in their available attacks.

Besides, if you surprise attack the general to start with you only have to get through one round of him.

The general Tenzen Yamauchi after the Ogre is harder than the general Naomori Kawarada before the Ogre.
Naomori feels so . .. cheap to be defeated, I dont know . . . I agree, he is just more of the same but with more health than Shigenori Yamauchi that is already easy.

I killed everyone then killed him solo. he is easy to run past and the soldiers by him are also easy to kill fast.

Also . . . if you kill just the ranged ones at the top of the stairs, he follows you down the stairs and indeed you dont even need to kill "everyone".
He also felt easier than Naomori Kawarada when 1x1 started.

I followed a video where you run up to kill 2 closest riflemen and run back to idol with General pursing. He should stop just before castle gate. Wait for him to slowly walk back up the stairs to run past him to kill other 2 riflemen. Don't worry about general - he won't attack you when walking back the stairs ;)

After killing all 4 rifilemen, pull yourself up roof and wait for general to return to his post and sneak to death blow him from behind. Then, just use thrust to kill him.
