On Snake lady is my game bugged?
Every time she does her red attack she pulls me in from like 10 feet away, I even step back as far as I can and her weapon in game doesn't even come close to me, but it still pulls me in? I can block and parry her physical attacks, but that one seems so broken cause it keeps getting me.

I tried changing my timing from moving right away to the last second but she still pulls me in no matter what, its a bit odd wondering if im running into a bug or just how she is.

Thats attack is a bit weird safest way is jump backwards.

Best to shuriken her off her strings.

Edit: I got the wrong boss, brainfart, muh bad, look for a guide further below.

If I remember correctly (I haven't played it since release) - If you are talking about her grapple, you can run toward (under) her to avoid it unless you are on the sides in which case you have to plan on whether or not the wooden beams will adjust her trajectory.

I had the same problem with the 2nd snake lady. I usually do jump attacks whenever I see the red sign for the first one but when I did that for the 2nd lady, she still manage to pull me. If you already have the loaded umbrella prosthetic, use that instead and then projected force skill. Not only it does posture damage, it sure as hell will chip away a chunk of her vitality.

Wait. Are we talking about the snake eyes lady or lady butterfly? Because lady butterfly doesn't have any grab attacks. Right?

Right... Snake Eyes... Dunno why I was thinking of Butterfly. Butterfly does have a grab, she jumps on you and strangles you with her legs but that's besides the point now. Oops.

Snake Eyes' "grab" is dumb. It has a whacky hitbox. It doesn't behave like your standard grab. It can be deflected (I never tried). It can be stomped like a sweep (I never tried). My most reliable counter to it was to jump backwards, sometimes twice even.

My general advice for the Snake Eyes is to use the fiery axe though. They can't deflect it or interrupt it, or power through it. Once you've found an opening you can land 1-3 hits without much trouble, building their posture like crazy. If all goes well, the fight's gonna be a short one (especially if you stealth killed the first bar).

The one in the mountains is weak to Sabimaru. Should get staggered and poisoned after a few hits, giving you an edge. The one in the poison pool is immune to Sabimaru but somehow still not immune to the poison pools. There's a YT guide to luring her into the pool and just letting her die to it.

Oh so that's her grab attack? Whenever I see her in the air, I'll just throw a shuriken. Never actually see her grab me lol

I've tried counter sweep. Worked like a charm on Shirafuji but it does not work on Shirahagi.

I managed to do that. Lured her into the pool. I stayed on one of the ledges guarded by the canooneers and she just walked into the pool lol

Her (snake eyes) attacks are quite easy to deflect just find the right attack/deflect rhythem. You can also deflect her shot at the end of her combo. The mid fight shots are harder to deflect.
Just jump back for grab and run to her directly after the jump and attack again.
