There's a special gourd you can purchase that does the same thing as Pacifying Agent, think it's called Mottled Gourd.

If he uses Pacifying agent or the Mottled purple Gourd he could survive a single terror scream in it's entirety.

At least I think you can, pretty sure I killed the Great ape through his scream when I fought it while my terror resistance was still up.
