sekiro has several waifus
dark souls 3 is the second sequel to a game that didnt need any. while dark souls 2 was made by other people and was insanely different ds3 was in some aspects, a cash grab. no real changes, just more of the same and no new lore. just expansion on a game thats already finished. wanna know the only substantial change in ds3? in ds1 you can tackle battles in any way you want. in ds3 its just roll to win.
sekiro feels like a redemption arc for fromsoft because they finally made something new. the previous 5 games they made played exactly the same (bloodborne is acceptable to me because atleast its not the same world.). then sekiro comes in and hey it seems you cant just spam roll anymore wtf was this even made by fromsoft? basically, sekiro feels way more fresh than dark souls 3
thanks man, honestly though going more in depth was uncessicary you had me at "sekiro has several waifus"
Basically if you value tool variety and replay value go for DS. This game is very self centered with very little deviation and fairly streamlined, which is not a bad thing. I keep coming back to DS games occasionally while with Sekiro I forgot about it after beating 2 endings.
- no charm run
- shuffle the order of some bosses
- go for a different ending
Can't think of anything else really. It's a good game but there's not a lot of reasons to replay it after beating.
I found the replayability and weapon variety was also one of my favourite things about bloodborne, so I probably will buy ds3 first although im sure ill get both eventually
so what else is there... i guess theres bow lmao
The main difference is that in Dark Souls 3 you have a set number of heals you can use between bonfires, and you have to explore to increase the number of heals you get as well as to increase their efficiency. And you only start with a couple, unlike Bloodborne where you can get 20 almost immediately. So you have to avoid taking damage a lot more than you would in Bloodborne.
The only real downsides to DS3 are that it’s incredibly linear compared to the other souls games, and it relies pretty heavily on nostalgia for the first Dark Souls and a bit of Demon’s Souls. You pretty much have to go in knowing the basic story of Dark Souls 1 to really understand the scope of what’s happening in 3.
In my personal opinion though, I would say you should play Dark Souls 1 before 3. While the bosses in 1 overall aren’t as good as those in 3, it makes up for it with just how much you can explore.
