How to do Mikiri Counter
I'm using Xbox controller, so I'll use those controls as reference.

So I get you press B when the red sign comes up, and I've done that successfully. But on videos I've seen people perform deathblows after the counter. Like in this video: https://youtu.be/nPq1cOX1JBo?t=21s

What do you press after you've countered? I've tried pressing Right Trigger for attack but it just does a normal attack.

B when the stab is coming. If the resulting posture damage breaks them, you can go right into a deathblow with R1.

Er, I honestly don't know how you can get it wrong.

You Mikiro Counter (a non-elite/boss enemy), they eat dirt, you press RB when the massive red icon appears, you stab them in the head and insta-win.

I really don't see how you can do it differently

I find pressing the directional stick toward the enemy and B the moment the perilous attack Kanji flashes up is a 100% deathblow everytime...but only when I push the stick towards the enemy. Probably confirmation bias but eh, it works for me.

The deathblow after only works on some enemies. It may work on more powerful enemies if their posture is already built up and health is low or something, not sure on that part.

But you just press B btw, don't press a direction as well. At least that's been better for me.
but first u must buy the hability

I dont get a red icon (if you're talking about the cursor dot, that is). Mine remains white.

Once the red konji appears, I bress B - enemy hits the dirt and I assume there's supposed to be a red dot but mine stays white.

Oh right, I didn't realise you had to completely break enemies posture for the full counter attack to happen.
