Pirated copy to legit version. HELP PLEASE!

Just bought the game. Enjoyed it so I bought it. I'm a broke boy, don't hate please.

So the issue is I'm trying to turn over my save from the bootlegged one to the legit version. Its not working somehow. It failed to load my previous save. Help please.

Just start over. Can't be that far if you just wanted to test out the game to see if it's worth the money.

I'm not sure you saving a lot of time reading up on the topic trying to get your save back instead of just starting a fresh save.
