How do I store items in the box of offerings?

The "guy who does not die" says it gives me gifts from time to time. But with me it is always empty.

No its not a bug. Depending on what you do. Late game some items do show up

I think he also says that items that become unavailable, will appear here, like if loot falls off a cliff.

If an npc selling important items died because story progress or you never met them then their items will be sold there in the box
