Quick Time Event - the game
why is no one talking about outrageous amount of unavoidable qte that is in this game.
want to finish off a boss - qte
want to just regular kill him you cant. he is immortal to everything but that
the thing that I like the most about killing a difficult boss is to kill them on my terms dodge an attack and slap them silly this predetermined qte stuff robs me of that not to mention completely kill the flow of combat as you are magically invulnerably during that animation

Can you...fail the boss finisher? I've never even considered it.

A QTE? Really? The finishers are just a fancy way to kill enemies, thats it. Same applies to bosses

Pressing left mouse button is hard for you i take it? Have you tried binding your key to another button? I.. seriously do not understand what your problem is with performing deathblows on bosses. They are already dead at the point when the marker comes up.

Actually, yes. I was fighting the Great Shinobi and took a sip of tea just as i broke his posture, but the ♥♥♥♥ spilled on the keyboard so I had to wipe it off.

While i was doing that, the boss just slightly resurrected himself.

your fault for drinking that gaye shet. your only sustenance should be the blood of your enemies.

Honestly, my initial reaction was that it reminded me of QTE, but they happen so fast and fluidly that they don't have the feel of QTE's from older games.

Its true i dont like it. When you see a boss and the red circle above his head, it sjust like hey this boss fight takes 2 qtes. You cannot killl a boss without doing the finisher. I feel thats bad design, i think the qte should be another button or a combo move to get rewarded for the cool death animation. Should have an option to just take down the hp at the end with normal attacks without finishers. not a big deal but i feel it would of been nice to have the option of both mechanics.

But you have to hit the boss dozens of times, or get some really good parries to get to the finisher. Honestly, the game is so gorgeous that having the finishing moves as a side option would be disgraceful.

You do realise the point is not to reduce the boss's hp to zero, but rather to break their posture and perform the deathblow, right? Why is it a bad design if the game gives you an animation once you break the posture?

i dont think pressing the attack button once really counts as a QTE
Kleerex Mar 25, 2019 @ 9:00am
I was talking about it, and people were telling me that QTEs are the same as in racing and fighting games. LOL

im saying it would be nice to have both options. right now the game is soo heavy about breaking there posture that u dont need to hit much if your good at perfect parrys to get to the qte finishers.
By having two mechanics on top of each other would create 2 different playstyles on offer. The heavy parry, counter gameplay that the game currently is focus on, and a heavy dodge hit and run style to focus on hp over posture.

Doing perfect parrys really isnt that hard, and for me anyway, just gets boring after awhile. There is one style in this game for combat right now, you can do it the uber slow safe way or the heavy aggressive parry way and thats your game right there.
Just by adding a small other ways to take bosses down other than just getting to a kill move would be nice.

Technically, the entire game is one giant QTE lol.

So let me get this straight. You want to spend MORE time whaling on bosses, rather than playing the game the way the devs meant for it to be played? Just go play Monster Hunter if you enjoy hitting things for a long time. This is clearly not the game for you. And pressing a button is not QTE. There is no timing involved. Bosses get posture broken, they get a Deathblow. Or are you saying that parrying is a QTE?

I have to hit R1 an extra time on a select few enemies?!

LITERALLY QTE THE GAME.
