How did FROM manage to make such a bad game?
I'm a veteran of the Soulsborne series and I just can't seem to get it.
the arm prosthetics are basically them having you pay to use the trick weapons from bloodborne

, you have only 2 healing pots 4 hours in while fighting enemies that either do basically no dmg or the random enemy that one shots you.

you’re encouraged to block and parry but it either doesn't work half of the time or when you do you feel like you didn't do it on purpose.

there's no normal dodging so no iframes instead wherever you are even mid-dodge you get hit but even if you dodge the hit you still get hit.
you are punished for dying and trying to learn the game by losing a consistent half of your money/xp AND apparently it seems like your npc's are gonna die because of those dolls and the dragon sickness thingy.

The level design is also just ♥♥♥♥ing trash.

They somehow managed to make the game more spam heavy because on normal enemies you just light attack twice and you win.

There is basically no mob variety as its all just:
"dude with a sword who pokes you"
"dude with an axe who just swings through attacks"
"shield mobs who you NEED to use your axe prosthetic which costs MONEY or you need to find the resources"
or "guy with fire bow"

I just don't understand how they managed to make such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ combination all while everyone is praising it. I'm going to keep playing to see if I'm missing something but its honestly been a grind to play for the last 3 hours...

Well there's your problem. You're treating this like a Souls game just because it's made by From. Don't do that.
Is it me or are Souls vets just completely incapable of adapting to a different type of gameplay?
Hey, some of us are actually doing just fine in Sekiro :P

Ya I'd say the majority of us are just fine.

Consider this...

He beat DS1 that way. He probably could have beat DS2 and DS3 that way I don't know I don't watch him. He would consider himself a "Souls veteran" and I guarantee he'd be doing one of these threads for Sekiro if he was a normal person with no following.

This is not soulsborns, just forget about the combat mechanics. This is basically Tenchu reborn, just get over it.

That video makes me sad. As does the entire comment section full of obvious giantdads who think they're somehow better because they manage to beat the game without putting in as much effort.

The thing is that if you are good at soulsborne, it doesn't mean you will be good at Sekiro instantly. It's quite opposite - you have to forget EVERYTHING you've learned about souls and bb combat, because Sekiro is different.

My question would be: How did FROM managed to make such a CANCER community? You guys love to bash everything and say everything sucks. You're just mad you can't make a BS 3-hit Cheese Pyromancer build in this game. Either adapt to the difficulty or get out. I don't see why this difficulty is such a big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deal for you guys that have been spamming git gud since the game was created, but I find it quite ironic that you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it now.
Nah you're just ♥♥♥♥.

"Doesn't work half the time" - - You serious? You're going to bash the game because your timing is booty? You know what comes now.. GG
im on a second playthrough havent died to a boss or mini boss once, also the "enemy variety stuff you're talking about only refers to the first area and the first optional area, how about dont complain about variety two hours in, the difficulty doesn't determine the quality, determines the fairness of the combat, some of the coolest fights in the game were incredibly hard,

btw for reference going through the second time ive done about 15 hours of my first playthrough in 2 or 3 so GIT GUD

Prime example of 'git gud'

You can easily get to 4 healing pots within 2 hours but opposite to Soulsborne, you indeed need to work for it, they don't just lie around in the world but are gated behind skillchecks (enemies).

If you get hit while dodging, you're doing it wrong, iFrames are not needed if your timing and direction is viable.

If you get hit while blocking, you're doing it wrong, your timing just sucks.

Quests stopping and NPCs getting sick is Miyazaki telling you, to git gud, this mechanic is especially made to show you that you need to try way harder instead of whining about it :)

Oh and regarding your 'veteran status' lol ♥♥♥♥ off dude, seriously. This is not Soulsbourne, it is not part of it, it is not connected. That's like 'I'm a Madden-Veteran but I suck at Battlefield.
this guy said it all +1
Miyazaki wants you to play his ways in this game.
Do NOT go into this game with a Soulborne mentality.
There is definitely some kind of iframe in the Seikiro, but it's tough to pull off. Don't bother trying to get it down. It's not worth it.
Seikiro does kind of has the Bloodborne feel when it comes to speed and aggressiveness I can tell you that. Outside of that though and some other aspects, Seikiro is wayyyyy different.
It's super fast pace, and if you can master it's combat mechanics, it becomes a really fun and great game.
You need to be in their face and take high risks.
Parry also has a bigger window than any Soulborne game Tbh Seikiro is quite generous on this.
Blocking can come in handy too. Either mix and play while blocking and deflecting. You'll then see the amazing flow in combat if pulled off right.
Also don't let that Soulborne Veteran pride cloud your mind. You'll end up looking like fool. As you have already shown us.
If you're still struggling, you're not learning the game is all I got to say.
some1 stuck in earlygame and judging, cute
There's nothing wron with this game. It's frustrating... but blocking works just fine. Hell I beat one of the bosses by blocking all his attacks and waiting for my chance to go in. Chances are people know which General I mean.
It's extremely clear you haven't made it very far in the game lmao. If you have 2 heals in 4 hours you are clearly doing something wrong or don't explore. Maybe stop playing like you're playing Souls. It punishes you if you have a Souls mentality.
