Need help in transferring save files from one account to another
So I played about 15 hours of Sekiro on my brother's pc while I was at his place. Now I am back home and we shared the game using steam sharing but the thing is that I have to start the game from scratch now. Is there any way I can use the save files from the other pc?
Thank You

You would have had to copy the save file on your brother's pc and then place it into your Sekiro save folder.

Have him email you the save.

Yeah I tried that but now starting Sekiro gives me an erroe on main screen saying "Failed to load data". I pasted the save file content into my folder as is.

Did you play it using his account or yours? If its under his then, I don't believe you can use the save file. I believe it was a prevent From Soft implemented to prevent Mega Mule from the souls games but didn't remove it from their engine.

Yeah I am trying to play the game from a different account now so maybe that's the reason. This is a completely single player game so I was hoping save transfer would be easy.
Anyways thanks for the help.

Found this on Stack Overflow, don't know if you still need help or if you bit the bullet and just replayed through but if not, here you go:

1. Open c:\Users[user-A-windows-name]\AppData\Roaming\Sekiro[user-A-steam-id] and get the file S0000.sl2 - this is Sekiro's save file.

2. Make sure you created a save file with at least one character on the account-B - log into the game on the account-B, sign user agreement, start a new game and quit one when you get the character in the first area.

3. Open c:\Users[user-B-windows-name]\AppData\Roaming\Sekiro[user-B-steam-id] and be ready to replace the file, which is there, by account-A file.

4. Start a new game, and while cutscene is playing alt-tab and replace the file.

5. When the game is started quit out to the main menu. Go to Load menu and delete the last character (the one you just created) - you won't need it anymore.

6. Now you should be able to load the game file in the main menu w/o error, but when you will try to load the first character you will get "Failed to load save data" error.

7. Now you need to get hex editor. I use this one: https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

8. Open your account-B save file. And copy bytes with offsets from 00A003D4 to 00A003DB (hex numeration) - this is account-B SteamId, which is checked when you load the file.

9. Find bytes 00034164-0003416B and replace them by the copied bytes. This is account SteamId, which is checked when you load the character. Now the error will change to "Save data is corrupted".

10. Then select bytes from 00000310 to 0010030F and calculate MD-5 check sum on them. You should get 32-digit dex-number, which you enter at 00000300-0000030F to your save file. This is check sum for you first character data, which told the game that the data is "corrupted".

11. Go to Load menu and load the first save. When you will be doing it you will see that the date and play time will be incorrect. But once you load and quit out they will be fixed.

12. Graphics settings are at c:\Users[user-windows-name]\AppData\Roaming\Sekiro\GraphicsConfig.xml file, simply copy this file. The rest of the settings you will need to setup manually.

P.S. The data for each player character is shifted by 00100010 bytes. Knowing this you should be able to port other characters slot in the similar manner, but I haven't tried it. How to port the very last slot - I don't know.

If you're only 15 hours in you can just start a new game i would say.

You already should see that you will be able to progress faster.

Just in case you cant use your old safe that should not put you off keep playing.

Good luck.

Wait, family sharing works on this? I tried to share it with my relative and it didn't show up for him at all.

The tipes above are not work any more, there is an program that works now called (SimpleSekiroSavegameHelper), and it is so easy to handel with. this program works with SEKIRO but i don't if it works with any another game from Fromsoftware or another studio.

1- Open c:\Users[user-A-windows-name]\AppData\Roaming\Sekiro[user-A-steam-id] and get the file S0000.sl2 - this is Sekiro's save file. (copy it and save it anywhere). this stip in the first account (A)

2- go to the another steam account (B)

3- download (SimpleSekiroSavegameHelper) from here (https://github.com/uberhalit/SimpleSekiroSavegameHelper/releases) and instal it.

4- open the program and click (Import foreign savegame)

5- Select savegame to import from (source) the file from account A

6- then Select savegame to import to (destination) the file from account B

7- then message will appears, press ok

the save game will transfer Easley, and about Graphics settings are at c:\Users[user-windows-name]\AppData\Roaming\Sekiro\GraphicsConfig.xml file, simply copy this file. The rest of the settings you will need to setup manually.
