Can't Upgrade Prosthetic Arm

I have the Mechanical Barrel from the Horse boss, and it tells me to go to the Sculptor to upgrade my Prosthetic. But when i talk with the Sculptor there is no option to ask about the upgrade.

Have i missed something? I can't find this problem anywhere else.

Rest at an idol then talk to him again. Occasionally the game needs you to 'cycle' time like that.

Tried, I've progressed quite far since the Horse boss. Like i've done 4 more bosses since. I have no idea how to fix this.

Didn't even realise that i should've had the Prosthetic upgrade by now.

I don't think that's the case. When i ask about my arm to the Sculptor he tells me to bring him upgrades. Even though i already have the Mechanical Barrel in my inventory. Tried opening a 500 coin sack but nothing changed. I also have plenty of materials needed for upgrades

In the Idol i have Shinobi Arts and Ashina Arts. If that's what you were asking?

Will do, i now realise why certain bosses were so difficult now, doing it all without any damn Prosthetic Upgrades.

This is late but I had this problem and just wanted to update a possible solution since I couldn't find one anywhere. I went and got the iron fortress from badger. He was already gone by the time I went back for it, but if his questline is finished it'll be in the house with the hole on the roof near the old grave idol in ashina Castle. That let me fit the umbrella prosthetic and unlock the rest of the tree so I could get the malcontent whistle. Try that if you don't already have it.
