The rest of the tools have been really meh for me.
Well firecrackers vs bull was nice but I relied mostly on staying on his rear end.
Firecrackers do nothing useful against humanoids, but they are great for animals, bull / horse so far.
Only seen a use for that flame cannon on the chained ogre, but it's tooltip mentions all red eyes enemies hate fire.
they aren't really tools for "open use" as doing so is a waste of emblems, they are exact tools for exact situations.
Axe is more usable, because it can do a lot of posture damage on some enemies, aside from just breaking shields and hats.
Edit ah yeah the axe is cool against shields
Against Lady Butterfly, using shuriken to knock her off her lines to get in free hits makes it a lot easier.
Against the drunkard, using oil and fire helps to get down his health fast to make him easier to stagger.
Against the chained ogre, same thing with the oil and fire.
The axe is great against enemies with shields obviously, but also can do a lot of posture damage to other regular enemies, so I use it occasionally against ones that block a lot. The downside is that it is slow, so you need to be careful when using it.
The spear, combined with a skill, lets you attack at range then close a distance quickly. It also lets you pull enemies to you, or hit multiple foes, or do massive stagger damage - depending on upgrades.
The firecracker stuns enemies. Against the bull and the horseman (or animals in general), it is invaluable, but even against regular enemies it lets you get in some free hits.
The metal fan is great for blocking multiple enemies at once during panic situations, or versus ranged attackers.
The teleporting feathers or whatever they are called supposedly are good versus bosses as well since they let you avoid an attack and move, though I don't like that playstyle much.
Haven't used the one that makes enemies "turn around," may try it out later. I'm also still missing at least one prosthetic, if the prosthetic upgrade screen is anything to go by.

So yeah, I use the prosthetic tools situationally. I use shuriken somewhat often just because they are fast and (once you spend a small amount of skill points) allow you to do your step-in charge attack which is very useful to keep up pressure when enemies retreat. I use the spear often as well, upgraded, because it actually can do a lot of damage (but is slower than the shuriken). My third slot is filled either with the metal fan or some other attachment depending on what I feel is useful at the time, usually.
Prosthetic skill tree is best waifu.
Axe for shields, firecracker for crowd control, spear for range and scorpion pulls for selecting victims from groups. Spear is mah fav.
