Treasure behind you in the "well" when you wake up, right at the start.

Yeah, so i noticed that at the start of the game, if i backpaddle into the water, all the way back and look up there's a peice of tresure...but i've been looking all over this map for about an hour now and i can't seem to find a way to get to it. Has anyone found a way?

yeah try not to get stuck looking for ways to get items that seem unreachable as there are often ways later in the game, think of it like a zelda game where you come back and revisit places
