So shallow..
I was rly looking forward to Sekiro, especially as a souls fan and somebody that took great pleasure in the "recent" work of from software. I knew this would be something different, a new experience, and i trusted the fs lords with that. After all they ve never failed me so far.

Oh what a mistake ive made. Reading the reviews, while watching some ingame footage my hopes for a creative setting and level/ character design slowly faded away, but ive kept reeading about the "deep"-combat mechanics and the sought after pleasure after succeeding.

Well turns out the level/ character/ item desing isnt the only thing thats generic as fuc, the praised combat is pretty shallow and boils down to smashing one button - the parry button (this is no joke, its not exaggerated, pls beware potential buyer, iam not fooling you!).

Oh yeah and forget exploring, there isnt anything, no new armor, weapons or useful gadgets, you are stuck with the same weapon for the next 15 hours. This is gonna b the first and last time you will feel happy about this joke of game time.

Oh and the replay value is near zero... I feel like this could have been like a little addon or smth, maybe a green light game, smth while waiting for the next big thing. Iam not even sure if the people that praise the combat are joking or trolling? I feel completly disconnected from all those positive reviews - did they play a different game? Didnt they play the creative masterpiece from fs before? And who calls one button scripted combat deep?
Iam pretty confused and baffled - whats your opinion community?

You are 100% right :cozyovercooked2:

It's pretty addictive. I like it, but my personal favourite FS game is Bloodborne. BB's platinum was a joy to achieve.

You have nobody to blame but yourself, this is why I waited to buy it.

You don't want someone else's opinion. You already dismissed the positive reviews.

not going to argue about the other points because opinions and all that- you do you- but there are "gadgets" you can miss by not exploring in the form of the shinobi tools. and there is also the demon bell you're able to miss by not exploring.
They took ds r1 to the extreme, it's literally become the only thing you can do

Im sry you feel that way, but I'm loving it. This is coming from someone who loved the DS series as well. Maybe you're expecting another DS, but this isnt it.

Well, i was atleast looking for some exploration and variation, i rly regret this aaa+ amount of money ive spent on smth so tiny - but good for you, enjoy

You said the people praising the game could be joking or trolling. You said that they didn't play FromSofts previous games and that somehow skews their opinion on Seiko. Shut up. You have your opinion. Stop shooting downs the opinions of others. You're not slick. I know what you're doing.

I enjoy the stealth kills. I like collecting arm parts (that takes exploring). I like the combat being fast paced and choatic, despite ppl complaining its "parry all day". All the FromSoftware goodness is there, you're just looking for another DS.

But werent all recent fs games about overcoming obstacles by varying your approach, this kind of sandbox feeling + setting + combat made them feel special, the sandbox is dead, the taste for the setting is debatable but certainly not as "creative" and "crazy" as those before -

So you dont "parry all day" to make it artificially harder for yourself or what do you mean exactly?

Its 15 hours only? Plus poor replayability sounds a bit... Love DS and was looking forward to this as something different but hard (like we want them). I always start with negative reviews though and when they are long and in depth they tend to come from people who want to love the game but found out they didnt, and they explain why. These are what kept me so far from buying the game. I love deep combat mechanics but i hear constantly how its parry>deathblow which sounds like it will become boring and repetitive after a few hours. I might be wrong of course. I will definitely wait for a sale and pick it up then. Its really 15 hours only? I kinda thought it would be a 30-50h game, but that was just in my head so it doesnt really count, lol.

Its much longer than 15h. I’m 8 hours in and I only just passed the 3rd “real boss” still a long way to go.

21 h in and i love the game, i think it will take me about 40h or so to beat it, i'm taking my time
KAZOO Mar 23, 2019 @ 12:59pm
Well all these points wouldn't be a problem if the gameplay was actually fun ... which it isn't. It's a hassle to get through ...
Kamamura Mar 23, 2019 @ 12:59pm
Another salty kid that got his salty bottom handed to him.

"The game is not 'fun', because it does not pamper my ego by giving me an OP character that auto kills everything, woo hoo".
