I won't spoil too much but I had a pair of npc die after my repeated failures against Lady Butterfly. I'm not certain whether they died due to story reasons or rather the dragonrot.

put some spoiler tags on your reply, but is is the dying son and the old woman? The first two to get dragon rot after the sculptor?

The old woman and her son will die after clearing Harita regardless of whether you ever even triggered Dragonrot.

i've yet to get a straight answer about this. i can cure the dragonrot for now, but i don't want to waste it right now. i will though if i need it to keep people alive. though the son and old lady both look near dead before getting sick already, so they probably can't make it anyway

That's dumb. I wanted to keep them alive on 2nd playthrough.

I can´t cure the dragon rot because the old lady is dead. What I do
Keagian Mar 23, 2019 @ 10:41pm
NPC's do not die from dragon rot, they only die through story progress or if you killed them yourself.

ok but now how i obtain blood sample

I get the dragon rot, and then I kill the butterfly lady. And then the game ask me to get the blood of the old lady, but the old lady is dead. What i do

It's not specifically looking for her blood. It's looking for the blood of anyone with dragon rot. Find anyone who is rotting and talk to them; the key items in your inventory should point you to the NPCs you need.

For me, she never got dragonrot at any point. Only the sculptor is scripted to be first, after that it's just any valid NPC you know of. At the start of the game, there just aren't very many choices, so she tends to be a common second victim.

what you do is die enough for a different NPC to get dragon rot. There's plenty of options on that front though you may not have met most of them yet.

No NPC do not die, it is just a resurrection penalty, you will not have chance to not loose xp and sen. The more NPC are sick, the less aid % you get.

But some npc do stop talking to you when they get sick, so to progress on their quest you need to cure it.

btw im at last zone and i have like 12 items to cure it left...so unless you die 30 times on every boss and miniboss you should be fine.

The entire Estate is optional.
