Bosses are a chore
Let me start off by saying I'm having a great time on Sekiro. Loving the combat system and everything that comes with it.

That being said I can't help but feel like bosses in this game are obstacles that I don't even want to bother overcoming.

The best part of this game at least for me is slaughtering enemies using your abilities, ninjutsu, and whatnot. But when you get to a boss fight all that♥♥♥♥♥♥is completely useless and it turns into a dodge/parry rinse repeat until you either kill it or rage quit.

As soon as I start a boss fight I can't wait until it's over so I can actually start having fun again. Anyone feel the same?

Every boss has different ideal strategies. Btw, most bosses in Souls require you to dodge over and over, its hilarious that people are complaining about this now.

When did I compare this to Dark Souls? And why are you?

Dunno, fought 2 legit bosses and a bunch of mini-bosses and I never felt annoyed or them being a chore. I did hate having to clean up the room of ads to then be able to challenge the mini-boss without getting gangbanged.

I sure prefer just stealthing my way through the game, but having to fight Lady Butterfly for 2 hours made me much better at deflecting especially for regular enemies.

Because this board is nothing but "lol Sekiro iz parry simulator, rinse/repeat" while ignoring that Souls bosses are mostly dodge, dodge, dodge, rinse / repeat. Sekiro actually has more variety in terms of what buttons you need to press and what is required to beat bosses.

Mini bosses are fine. It's just the main ones that feel like such a drag to me.

I'm pretty far into the game and I just keep dreading having to slog through another boss fight

But you use the same weapon with the same strat. Most bosses are "parry then attack". At least in dark souls you had damn variety on bosses. This one has NONE.

Actually you don't. Some bosses are much easier to beat if you use the prosthetic arm, and even then it depends what skill you use with the arm. In dark souls you either tank or dodge and some bosses cannot be tanked so it's dodge or die. That's it.

Posion items, magic on MANY levels, dual wield, 2h, shield and 1h, bows, crossbows and then you can COMBINE those all together to do some insane things.

What do we have here? On right sword and parry. That is LITERALLY how you do most fights. There was more variety in Dark Souls and that difficulty was fun. This game difficulty feels forced instead of woven in. Mainly by making HP bigger than it needs to be and PURPOSELY making bosses and even normal mobs have 1-2 shot mechanics.

Look i'm enjoying the game so far on my PS4, but this game doesn't have fun difficulty. It has forced difficulty and FORCED to play specific ways instead of being creative.
Kinda feel the same, yeah.

nah she is fine, but you have to be aggressive and not even let her do anything in the 2nd phase.
If you let her summon her stuff she will recover all her poise while you are busy running from illusions.
She is a fragile grandma, you can actually disrupt her

Dark Souls had a hundred different builds, different types of weapons ranging from melee to ranged to magic, you could block dodge or parry, you had armor that gave you resistances or buffed stats along with weapons that gave you stats.. This game? You get one katanna and a handful of semi-pointless prosthetic items that are all limited by the amount of cross-things you have which don't seem to add up very quickly and only seem to matter when you are facing a rough enemy. It's not like magic where you could use it to kill a tough enemy to get to the next bonfire and restore it, it feels forced and like artificial difficulty giving us limited uses on the prosthetic abilities. So no wonder people find it boring...
Maybe you just aren't very good at Sekiro? I'm sure if you look on Steam you can find something more your skill level.

The argument isn't "omg too tuff plz nerf game bad" type of deal. The issue is how most fights are LITERALLY THE SAME IDEA! Hardly any variety aside from "parry then attack" or "parry or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ die." It can get tedious and boring.
