Is this actually a stealth game?
Is this a stealth game in the same way Styx is a stealth game? Or is this a "stealth" game in the same way that Assassin's Creed is a "stealth" game?

This is a stealth game in the same way DMC 5 is a stealth game.
Good question. I refunded the moment I found it out. Waiting for the support now.

It's a FROMsoft game with stealth elements, not a stealth game with FROMsoft elements.

Stealth seems mostly useful as a way of making a fight less challenging by killing an enemy or two or taking one of the boss' "Posture broken points" before it begins, or to kill isolated enemies. Beyond that, it is very much a fighting game.

This is not a stealth game, idk where it says that, has elements of stealth. Like idk, Metal Gear Solid. But has more combat.
Good game to compare it to but maybe before your time, TENCHU 1 and 2.

I play it stealthy and it pays to do so, you can insta kill enemies, but as soon as your caught that's it. Unless you run away and hide!

Main bosses tho you can't stealth

The stealth mechanics are kind of crap. Enemies ignore corpses, which is dumb. Not that you can move them anyways.

like AC is a stealth game , you can go berserk in them and fight everyone face on or you can sneak around and reduce their numbers until you leave the boss/mini boss etc weaker

is not a stealth game , is a action game with stealth elements as you can't just stealth around everyone till the end like in dishonored

So far I found two types of level design:

1. Coridor style, where if you attack directly, you will fight 2-3 foes at once. So far you could always use stealth to bypass it, go from the back and kill one by one. Or just attack and you will be fine.
2. Larger square like structures, which remind me of forts in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Here if you barge in, you will fight 5-6 at once, but with stealth you can again almost perfect kill stealth kill them all. Here, attacking head on got me killed 100% of the time.

But the stealth is more like a tool to reduce the number of foes, create space and then kill the rest of the foes directly.

And if you are seen, just run and spiderman away, came back 30 seconds later and continue.

It's tagged as a stealth game so it will come up in a search for that tag.

You obviously can't stealth bosses, but you can take 50% of the health bar of some bosses and of the normal foes and levels you can probably stealth them if you want to.

I use stealth as a situational tool and honestly this is how the game feels to be designed like.

its not rly a stealth game, you can kill 1-2 stealth but other will see you and you have to fight. Its still like dark souls only harder
Efesell Mar 22, 2019 @ 12:21pm
You can sneak around but there's no actual "stealth" kill which sort of disqualifies it for me.

Oh you can kill someone from stealth but you'll have announced it to every enemy in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ zone.

It's almost a stealth game. You can do some kills from the shadows, but you can't be in shadows forever, forcing you to go face to face with enemies
