Even so, it is still a great game well worth playing even if you couldn't make your own character. I do hope they make another game like Sekiro, but with the ability to craft your own character. I honestly couldn't care less about the story.
yeah i can feel the antidepressant already working
Was Sekiro a multiplayer game ... I would not like to see someone ultra fast on Dark Souls 3 pvp because of cheats, but if someone want to cheat himself/herself in a singleplayer game like Sekiro, it is their problem only, only their experiences are affected, their money, their game, their own experience.
Wrong. I've platinumed Sekiro and I'm about to beat it for the fifth time. And I'd still love a character creator.
There's no relation whatsoever between the two things.
I am not condeming you and hey, maybe you just enjoy the game sooo much because to you it is so new, so rebellious and it tickles your braincells so well (...), but I don't think you're a child anymore and this is not the first game you have gutted... You do say, and that's the shocking part to me, and yeah most certainly stereotypical in a way,, say, you "honestly couldn't care less about the story" (implying just wanting to have raw gameplay like just hitting buttons, which in this case, let's say it is a told story nevertheless, turns around finishing others, persuading a feeling of being big or better say being overly influential, maybe not existing at all ; Also the fact, that you are admitting you're playing the game for the fifth time and that you "take a lot of pride in the characters" you "[...] create" already translates to me that you (like many others) are probably having a rough time in your life, just looking for a way to relax very desperately, trying to escape from reality, trying hard to idealize something while at the same time getting lost in it.. Welcome to the club! :) Same goes for the others in here who are like many others confused with their gender or just identity in itself, who must under every circumstances have it a different way, or have it their way, for otherwise they or at least their fading fun feels handicapped... That's just self-worship.
We are all bored and want change, so I don't say not to grow, improve or adapt, I don't want to degrade anyone, so go ahead and express yourself for that is everything there is, but in my eyes your ideal might just be somewhat exemplary for not just being able to accept or say fathom the game (or life) and its developers (or god) for what everything is and the shoes you're generally put in... May it now be the character creator or an easy mode - I try to criticize wanting to bend things like you want them to be, to take yourself too important, and have everything your way, and as quick as possible even if it is just an placeholder or an illusion, which is not helping anyone.. ♥♥♥♥, trying to bend the truth even... What are you rebelling against?! It's not right to change something better to the worse, because it feels uncomfortable to you or because it challenges your intellect and forces you to look beyond yourself and have empathy.
I consider myself rather introspective or contemplative, and I would feel bad when it was any other way for learning is being, but yeah there's a world beyond basements and rooftoops... That's just stereotypical again for what I am saying now, but I have a mum for example, who after doing her rather unsuccesfull, nerve-racking job comes home, but instead of having a nap or cooking, like starting to regenerate or actually grow, she eats some junk and sits in front of the TV half asleep, like under hypnosis getting implanted a lot of thoughts, acting too like the projected story there wouldn't matter, even tho it is right there and even tho it hits her hard, may it just be subliminally... Well, this is nothing unaccustomed for most of us anymore, but it is not just fun and everyone matters...
Let's be honest, as much fiction as this game is build upon, it's made by real people who are referring to real people's visions, it's all part of history and as abstract as it appears it is nothing new at all, it is just leaning against the past, which is not necessarily bad, but if you too want the future to happen, just be it.
This play anyway, is tailored around a main protagonist, so if you want the character to change you want to change the story, which I would generally say is ok, because they are all in deep trouble and there exist better ways of communication than the guys portrayed in this game. And sure, there exist more wholesome stories, and this game is not my bible either, I saw a dude doing speedrun with Sonic the Hedgehog skin, where I thought like, "Why didn't the developers come up with this earlier?"... Watching a Spider-Man movie but trying to replace Spider-Man, and next the rest of the cast, is just ridiculous... Go ahead and change the bust size with something I prefer more, but I certainly don't want a character creator at the cost of the story, or an easy mode at the cost of elaborated challenges.
It depends on the game, and we're all at a trot, but having a character creator here is like throwing the developers intention out of the window, just like it is when implementing an easy mode: specific morals are implied and there is a specific way of telling it - it doesn't even need words for that, the gameplay speaks for itself. But certainly there is one way it was orignallly designed, and one it was originally supposed to be played;
Mainstream success is not generally bad, what is bad is if it is at the cost of the vision... There is a hype that has evolved around Myazaki, the supposed game director, This being his most innovative game since the first Dark Souls speaks against everything, but I still think it is a great game and I think this game director at least slightly believes in (his) work, and that he still play his own game, and not just does some populistic dumbed down ♥♥♥♥, as much as he is victim of it all... As much as I despise this man and his 'company', I also want people to respect other people('s work).
I have absolutely nothing against modding. I'd rather have open-source community driven games, where your influence matters and where you're not getting turned into cash cows for some shady basement dwellers in suits. Yeah, let's be solidary, but let's not do it at the cost the meaning... Maybe we should create our own games instead of just consuming them. Modding is a middle way, but it's not ascension, when you are not true to the cause.
Part of the reason I like Dark Souls so much, and also Sekiro, actually is the story and the truth it hints towards... Surely, the gameplay is phenomenal, I do understand that a game is a game. Laid back is the narrative, but it is not just background noise. I don't think the story is the background for the gameplay, but the gameplay the background for the story.
Action movies are just killing brain cells and so do most games, and I'd rather play an action game than watch an action movie, for it gives an additional layer of depth and a sense of control. The devil is in the detail and what matters lies between the lines, and I don't care if it seeks attention, if it is golden. Focus on perfection, not attention or appreciation.
That sounds just like complete denial. Popular and comfortable for some maybe, stupid anyway. Maybe give other people some respect for they might care more than you do, be more responsible. (♥♥♥♥, I have a deja-vu right now). I was gonna already say this the last time and partially did, but nobody can think before they act, but I do enjoy silence if it means you're overthinking, planning and try actual humility once. Be attentive be appreciative, but don't think it just evolves around your personal truth..., I guess it's OK, because a character is a character, and what defines us as individuals are our limitiations. We will learn from it... But remember, nobody likes to get spit on, so leave Sekiro alone you bullies ffs.
