You kill one enemy got spotted ? NO PROBLEM. Go back a bit they will stop searching. Kill another enemy get stealth bonus again... got spotted? No problem go back and wait for them to chill.... At least in Tenchu you got a score at the end of the mission. Here stealth is recommended but quite frankly its situational. After all you can abuse the system of backtrack kill backtrack kill... still getting bonuses.
If you happen do tie to a mini boss guess what.... you need to kill all the mobs in the area all over again. And you will die. It takes some time to learn what to block what to dodge and what to jump over. Its clumsy and its grindy.
Tenchu had a STYLE and cool characters. Sekiro kinda lacks style. Stealth Kills are pretty much what you find in Skyrim. Just a short animation with I frames.
While Tenchu's animations were a bit longer and cinematic due to the different camera angles and names.
Music is also less JAzzy but more Traditional ( fitting the game though but less style points )
Anyone who expected this to be Tenchu is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot.
The only things this game and Tenchu have in common is that they both take place in Japan and they both have you playing as a Shinobi.
Thank you, I'm also tired of people saying it's even remotely close....
Half the forums were talking about how close this game was to Tenchu
Props to the first guy who actually explained the difference.
The only issue with the game is its doesnt seems to reward stealth approach. So it's close to Tenchu only because a ninja should be able to have stealth skills, but the way they designed the gameplay mecanics doesnt reward the approach.
Most people saying there no point with tenchu really needs to close their mouth for good, first off dev's where looking to create a new thenchu, they just didnt go that direction because of gameplay and story mecanics, second, Most of people saying that dont know a s*** about Tenchu franchise. Cause its quite simple Tenchu warth of heaven had everything present in sekiro.
There is zero argument to dont agree cause its a reality. In a third time, people should understand Tenchu franchsie was a Pattern mecanics game with boss fights. Everything that determines the souls Franchise also. Period.
Also Rikimaru >>> Wolf.
People saying that Sekiro and Tenchu have nothing in common either dont know these games or just try to deny facts for their amusement.
Its like Star Trek and Star Wars. A lot in common. A lot different.
Doesn't mean it'll appeal to Tenchu fans and imo Sekiro is an action game first and foremost that appeals more to the Ninja Gaiden crowd than Tenchu fans.
I wasnt talking about how much it would apeal to someone who likes Tenchu.
All i said was. Saying Sekiro and Tenchu have nothing in comon is bollocks.
Here a list of thinks they have in common.
1.Setting: Both play in Japan. Both tell a Story around Samurai,Ninja, Shinoby.
2 Realism: Both games are fantasy games. A lot of historic figures and Items but also a lot magic, vodoo bambuzle whatever.
3. Stealth. You can sneak up on enemies and finish em instantly.
4.Movement. You can use a grapling hook to get on roofs or edges. You can jump of walls and climp around ledges.
5. Enemies. Sekiro will probably have a more diverse enemy pool. However both games have humans, animals and monsters as enemies.
6. Items. Both game will give the player acces to different items to use for his advantage.
I am pretty sure you can keep this list going on for quiet while.
But the point is made.
Both games share a lot of things.
Well, there are .... ghosts of Tenchu here, I guess: wall hugging and peeking, colours and graphical nuances.
But the stealth here is minimal compared to Tenchu, where it was the whole leitmotif of the game.
