Purple screen on startup
Every time I start sekiro my screen becomes purple, and even if I close the game it stays like that, only thing that fixes it is rebooting.
Does anyone have a solution?

Yes, I have a RTX 2080 and a Samsung TV. So it could very well be the source of the problem.
1440p is no option for me because it would lock the framerate to 30 fps. On the TV I only get 60 fps in 1080p or 4K.

It seems like we're all playing on Samsung TVs apparently, so we may have found the source of the problem. How are you guys enabling HDR though? The PC's hdmi port is the only one that doesn't allow me to enable it.

I think I got it to work properly now.
I did a bunch of stuff, so I'm posting everything that seems necessary for it to work.

On my Samsung TV I enabled the HDMI UHD Color on the HDMI Ports I frequently use (PC and PS4). You can find it under "external device management.
After that I was able to set the "dynamic Output range" (I hope this is the correct name for it since I'm from Germany) to full in the NVIDIA control panel, under the tab change resolution.

Next could simply be my own impression so feel free to skip this step:
After that for me the white areas were too bright and the black areas too dark, so that a ton of details were barely visible. I fixed it by reducing the contrast in the NVIDIA control panel by 30%.

I left the Windows 10 HDR setting off since it washes out the color in desktop view and seemingly has no effect on the game.

Today I started Sekiro again and was able to set it to 4K without problem.
Even closing and restarting seem to work just fine.

So I'm hoping that this will help you as well.

Same, my tv's HDR is weak so even after fixing it I turned the HDR off anyhow.

It is 100% HDR related! My Saumsung T.V. has one HDMI port that is HDR enabled and the other 3 aren't. I had my PS4 plugged into the HDMI HDR enabled port. Out of curiosity I unplugged my PS4 and I plugged the HDMI cord that comes from my computer into the HDMI port that has HDR and it booted up perfectly fine. No Purple or Magenta screen. The game auto enables HDR on 4K resolutions on startup no matter your settings in game so its boots Purple or Magenta. To automatically fix this you need to have the HDMI cable that connects to your PC also plugged into a screen that has an HDR port or you'll always have the purple screen. You can temporary fix it by switching to a lower resolution and then switching back to 4K in the main menu which works fine, but you have to do it every time you boot.

Internet peeps, I indeed had the same issue until I turned on Enhanced 4k HDMI Signal format for my PC's HDMI Input (Sony Bravia series). You can find this in your Bravia tv Settings > External inputs > HDMI signal format > Turn on for your selected input and restart tv when prompted. So if you are having the purple screen issue, check your tv's input settings folks.

Thanks, it helps.

This also worked for me. Thanks Raziel! For anyone else using this fix: If it doesn't prompt for a TV restart, you can do so manually by holding down the power button on the remote for several seconds.
