Sekiro started looking washed out for me after updating to the latest Nvidia driver but I fixed it by going into Nvidia control panel , Change resolution, scroll down and select "Use Nvidia color settings" and just be sure the Output dynamic range is set to Full (the defaults should all be correct here already).
I'm guessing this is a bug where the normally selected "Use default color settings" is actually using Limited output dynamic range instead of Full.
Can you tell me, if you are talking about image quality as it is seen in the screenshots in my thread:
I wish my problems were fixed so easily by choosing that option or by alt + tabing out or by deselecting HDR. Are you guys sure, that we are talking about the same issue?

Are giving me hopes, that this will be the first FROM game with proper blacklevels, once it is fixed? Or are you not talking about the grey-ish looks on everything?
This is specific to HDMI monitors only and is useful when that monitor is a TV. For use with a PC, Full is the correct setting.
Yeah I don't know why windows likes to default to Limited with my main monitor whenever a game like Sekiro forces 60Hz refresh, but choosing Nvidia color settings / Full output fixed it (monitor is 144Hz / using Displayport cable).
I looked at your screenshots and it appears the issue I had was different, mine was way more washed out than your left side (default) screenshots.
The game appears to look normal to me in your default / left screenshots, the right side / modified brightness shots seem a little to dark IMO.
Hmm, so you are saying that when a game forces 60Hz in full screen exclusive t is also changing the dynamic range output on DP as well? That's interesting. But, it does not happen in 144Hz FSE games? I have 144Hz Gsync as main and "secondary" monitor is a DENON AVR, so it is possible we may be experiencing similar things.
I would be interested to know why that is.
Why are the games graphics using full range 0-255 when in borderless window and not while in fullscreen?
default is limited
anyway theres a lot people can do to fix this themselves. you could re-calibrate your tv for sekiro, you could use fakehdr from reshade or vibrance. just tweak it to your liking
