xbox controller is working fine. I was even in mid-game when i plugged it in since i couldn't setup my Keyboard+mouse. A poster up there somewhere mentioned something about controller settings but personally didn't fiddle with anything it worked right off the bat.

I have found a solution for DualShock users just download the ds4windows and connect your controller and in the settings of the ds4windows just tick on hide ds4 option and restart your pc and open this software again and it will work perfectly

I used X360CE. It didnt work at first. I had to go in to big picture mode, controller settings, disable PS4/Xbox/Generic controller support so that steam stops trying to over ride the controller and failing to work. Once you turn those on and set up x360 properly it works fine.

My DS4 is working via bluetooth and configured in Big Picture Mode.

The problem is that the gyro is enabled and moving the controller swings the camera around. Very annoying in fights.

Found a way to make it work 100%

Launch Steam in Big Picture>Go to Sekiro in your library>Manage Controller>Browse configures>Select the one called Sekiro with the description of PS4 Pad in the title>go into the setup and change everything that says mouse to either none or in the case of the joysticks to just joystick.

Congrats you can now close out big picture mode and launch the game and it'll play just fine with a PS4 controller.

Go to controller settings and config it to your liking. Better yet, browse the community controller profiles and pick one.

in my case, my 360 controller wasn't working because it thought my mini bluetooth keyboard was the controller. when i unplugged it it worked immediately w/ no configurations

I'm using a PS4 controller, i disabled gyro in the big picture settings of the game, (disabled in browser as well) where else should i disable it (because it didn't fix it)

Another thing that worked in one case: if you have more than one controller (e.g. a pad and a joystick) unplug all controllers you are not using right now, and leave only the one you want to play Sekiro with.

I couldn't get my Xbox 360 controller to work. I finally figured out that a vJoy device was interfering with it. I disabled it in Device Manager / Human Interface Devices, restarted the game, and now I can actually use the controller.
