Nope Steam Support can't do ♥♥♥♥ xD Region locks are in place for distributing companies/legal distribution rights. people have lives, work, have contracts and times/deadlines.

Physical copies means access to the game early. For PC in other regions outside of the western hemisphere, it might also means access to game discs that makes it easy to reverse engineer.

Btw in some places in the world, it's already March 22nd, so technically in Australia it's unlocked I think.
