Yet you cared enough to make a quite primitive and totally pointless comment. Kiddo.

Expert code-master man here feels the need to explain just how simple it would be to program it. In MINUTES, no less... lol. All they gotta do is open up notepad, write "game.supportUltraWideMonitors = true" and drop it in the game, right? That's how programming works. It's simple, just DO it, right?
Many games support our aspect ratio, many don't. Last I checked our Ultrawide resolutions were used by more people than 4k on Steam.
It's not unreasonable for us to ask to be supported in games. And unfortunately in this world of ours, you have to be loud to be listened to. I don't condone how a lot of people end up going about it, but better them than me.
This is 7 months old, but at the time 0.36% use ultrawide, and 3 years before this it was only 0.34%

It's not a standard when less than 1% of players use it. You'll have to be REALLY loud for you <1% to be heard, sure.
This is current.

Add those together it's 1.45
4k is 1.46
But we also have 32:9 being ultrawide as well who will be under "other"
But for Monster Hunter world, our number was bigger than 4k. Just for 21:9
It's not just about the UI, games load and unload stuff that's off-screen to save processing power and VRAM (it's called culling), and maybe the game runs like ♥♥♥♥ when it's on ultrawide or something because it's having to render more than usual.
Dishonored 1 was released in 2012 and it natively supported 21:9
Hell Dark Souls 1 Remastered was just released and natively supports 21:9.
It's not hard to implement, there's not a lot of extra work to do. We asked the devs of Yakuza 0 to do it and they patched it right in no problem.
Even Monster Hunter World devs finally patched it in.
It's frustrating when they can do it, but don't. It's not asking for too much. And it doesn't effect you in any way. And I'd argue more importantly, how do we expect to get 21:9 support if we DON'T ask?
