Sekiro is stuck in a small window.
SOLVED

Whenever I launch Sekiro the game is stuck in a tiny 800 x 450 borderless window. I put 28 hours into the game previously with a few small mods to make the game more friendly for 21:9 displays. Yesterday when I launched the game It was stuck in the aforementioned window. So far I have tried the following things:
  • Removing the mods
  • Verifying the game cache
  • Reinstalling the Game
  • Running the game from a clean boot
  • Update drivers
  • Running the game as an administrator

I have an I5 - 4960k, GTX 1070ti, 8gbs of ram, the game is installed on a secondary ssd not the main c drive. Thanks in advance for any help.

SOLUTION: Here's how I fixed it, in the NVIDIA control panel in the " Adjust Desktop Size and Position" menu under the scaling tab there is an option that says "Perform scaling on" with a drop down box underneath it. Mine had somehow gotten switched to display instead of GPU. Once I switched it to GPU the game worked perfectly again. Thanks to everyone that tried to help. If you also have this problem I hope this also works for you.

I have a similar problem. I played for 100 hours with no problems but as of yesterday Sekiro will only open in a borderless window in the upper left corner of the screen. It will not change to windowed mode from fullscreen mode and it will not change to 3840 x 2160 resolution. Completely ignores either command. I've not changed monitors, screen resolutions or graphics card settings.

When I read the title, I like to imagine that OP just beat Genichiro at the top of Ashina, and he talked to Kuro, so that he can progress. He opened the window to leave the building, but he got stuck.

It wasn't set properly but it didn't change after I fixed it. Thanks though.

I can confirm, changing that setting in the Nvidia Control Panel fixed it for me as well
