Thinking I should grind somemore to aquire skills or prostetic upgrades
Looked on youtube thinking most are probably on Console
I understand the mechanics of the game kind of hard when you have a big fking ape running at you without a head

What exactly is killing you? Terror? Run as soon as you see the charge up. Take care not to get stuck in an attack animation, so don’t mash buttons/keys. Or use umbrella.

run and stab it after she tries to slash you from the floor, then run away and avoid therefore the terror

There's a consumable that makes it that his terror attack can't kill you.

In the second phase, when he terrors, just stand next to him and do massive damage, as he's completely defenseless when using the terror attack.

Instead of running away, you can use the umbrella, stop using it a second or two before he is done screaming and get in few free hits, you will build up a little terror but it's worth it imo.

Thanks for the tips guys I got him through a good run by jumping over him when he slides then deflecting and dealing good damage when he raised his arm up and fell much easier than the first part once you get it

You'll have many more challenges harder than him, good luck. :)

Prosthetic Spear does a heck of damage to him if you deflect some of his sword attacks to make him fall over.

On the second phase get good at parrying his attacks after you parry a couple of he will do a huge overhead chop... Perry that attack. And he will be stunned momentary on the ground with this bloody stump facing you . spear it !! you would do massive posture and physical damage to him .

to prepare the 2nd phase, having the purple gourd can help alot. You can buy it from the merchant in Mibu Village.

For the boss himself:
Red sign = jump back
comes toward you = parry
when he does his overhead chop = parry, its the best window to attack him
boss falls on the ground
3/4 swords slash
then always fallback, as he will perform his terror attack.
repeat

i actually find the second phase easier than the first one lol i guess it depends on people's playstyle

I would have to say Do not attack him three or four times after you parry the overhead chop use the spear is much more effective trust me

Use the purple umbrella if you got it. And if you don't got it, get it. Just lay it down and presto problem solved.

But just go in for 2 hits and back out. Don't get greedy with hits. But deflect his sword and wait for him to plow his sword into the ground and deflect and hit him with a good 5 or 7 hits and get back out. But again if you have the purple umbrella, lay it down.

Err, don't think you need purple umbrella, the normal one worked fine for me on NG
