Lone shadow longswordsman?
Why did they choose to put this fight in a cubicle? I like this enemy and I'm sure I can beat him but the most difficult part of the fight is the fact that I can rarely even see my own character on account of the size of the room. Didn't fromsoft learn to stop putting tough fights in really tiny spaces? Did they learn nothing after Capra Demon?

Be sure to plunge him to remove one of his HP bars.

Yeah, get the drop on him and then use oil/fire and ash. He goes down pretty easily if he can't see.

Pretty sure it was deliberate, in both cases. The fight is tricky but not impossible, As sheogorath mentioned make sure to drop attack him for one of his health bars, then do your best to stay in the middle of the room and avoid corners

if you deflect his attacks you can break his posture and get a deathblow

That fight is particularly hard because the game punishes you for trying to get distance between you and him. Also, the Mikiri Counter is super useful but players aren't used to countering kicks/punches. So, it makes things awkward.

Before anybody says GET GUD, it really is a particularly difficult fight.

...Snake Eyes is still harder, though.... :/

like everything in this game Git gud, now I don't want to brag but if you would see how easy I go thru this type of enemy it would be hillarious to see your reactions.

One simple tip: Stairs, love em, embrace em.

Drop Death Blow that ♥♥♥ (Jump towards him, otherwise the deathblow sign won't show up) - hit him a bit OR run towards the stairs right away. Use Shuriken to chip on his health a bit - target him and jump down to slash at him.. untarget and jump back up to regroup (you HAVE to untarget as sekiro jumps shorter/lower when he targets someone).

That fight is insanely difficult due to the abysmal camera imho. it could be easy but isn't due to the tight space the fight happens in.

I had a lot of difficulty with him as well. Then i realized i did something wrong.
I didnt saw the drop down to deathblow at first... makes 1 hpbar difference lol.
Also i realized i was playing way to defensive (old dark souls habit^^). So i started playing agressive and i downed him so easily haha. Almost doesnt matter if the space is this tight this way.
Since this fight the game is a lot easier/less hard for me now. Be agressive! Especially against certain enemies. U learn fast this way as well.

If it was deliberate that means it was deliberate bad game design. When the most challenging part of the fight is trying to locate your own character on the screen, something's wrong. I get the idea of giving you less room to operate to make avoiding attacks harder, but it doesn't work in practice. Small spaces like the one in this fight and Capra Demon result in ♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera angles which makes for a poor experience. I really liked that lone shadow dude, but he would've been more fun if I had enough space to actually see my guy.

Also ♥♥♥♥ snake eyes.

Snake eyes is pretty easy dumbed down: Be agressive, hit once then parry hit again repeat - you'll be punished slightly every now and then but more often than not she'll eat it. Repeat. If a fast combo is done (kick before she jumps back) keep blocking the following shot.

The only, absolute real threat is her deathblow thingy, gain distance ASAP. Like ASAP. Once you enter the area to the left side is where you wanna go. If you Run towards Her right away you can run-charge jump up, lock on, Ichimonji double that ♥♥♥♥♥ for ez free double damage. Go from threre. She'll often either not parry your blow or ready the rifle to take the hit, whittle her down.

Make sure to keep her to the left side of the Platform as you'll be targeted by rifle men on the right side. There's some sort of tiny cliff/rise in the ground to her left when you look at her entering that is 1) Perfect to corner her and 2) perfect to drop down from if it's heating up fast so you need to retreat.

For the *************************************************************SPOILER*****************************************************************SPOILER************************************************************************

second one, clear the area. She'll be triggered AF at that point, jump up to the right of the bhudda statue and chill out. She'll posion herself like the pleb she is from the water. It takes some time to build but 4x poison = free real estate. Repeat once more = ez gg.

Just bet this boss, (but i still refunded/returned the game).

Tips:
• Back stab him from above
• Don't use lock on – the camera has a spaz
• If you can't posture damage him, play hit n run
• Run around the map, including that ledge and beat his AI, watch him throw kicks in mid-air at nothing, then sprint in for the hits.

sad news, this fight will repeat itself many times over.
this purple dude will show up both as regular enemy and as mini boss again at least two more times.
and its gonna be in tight places again so look forward to that.
