Obviously a lot of the later moves are ultimately better but it's in not bad.
It works wonders against those annoying bugs jumping all over the place. Usually gets rid of several at once - nice to farm emblems (not that it would be necessary though).
I think you mean Nightjar Slash. One thing to consider is that damage from all attacks skills is pretty mediocre. Therefore, you should really choose an attack skill based on it's utility. Nightjar Slash Reversal is unrivaled in it's ability to quickly close and create distance. Ichimonji is useful because it reduces your posture damage. Everything else is inferior to those to skills from my experience outside of very specific circumstances. You might pick up the prosthetic skills simply because you they don't occupy your skill slot, but it's not necessary.
