That applies to every piece of game music ever, and yet there are good and bad video game soundtracks. Just because a piece is written as incidental music to a game, play, movie, series, whatever other medium, that alone doesn't make it good. It has to be an intrinsically good piece of music on top of that to be considered good; it has to be enjoyable to listen to like any *good* piece of music. Otherwise, it's bad music and little more than background noise.
Say they're are two pieces, 1 and 2. Both pieces were composed with context in mind and both pieces fit their respective contexts. Yet piece 1 is good music and piece 2 is bad music. This is a possible scenario because the fact that a piece fits its context in terms of mood/tone doesn't necessarily make it good! "You anime kid" don't realize this very simple concept.
The only thing that bothers me, but that generally has nothing to do with the music.
the game has constantly repeating soundlines in some places.
It's frustrating.
But my complaint was misunderstood.
It was not about the soundtrack.
The game is great, but in a few places there is simply cause for criticism.
Hmm, I thought the anti DS2 circlejerk died in 2014, are there still people that seriously call it the worst Souls game
whatever those tracks are - i cant say any of them actually good.
No, the worst Souls game is DS3. Doesn't mean that DS2 is flawless, or even good.
DS2 does have pretty generic and forgettable soundtrack though. The worst in the series (after Sekiro :^))) )
Have you been on internet at all since 2014?
I have, have you? Or still stuck in Dark Souls 1 best era
The first one is the best though.
i have to say though, what really makes VGM stands out its how memorable it is.
its fine that sekiros music only fits its ambient
"The first one" is a funny way to misspell Dark Souls 3.
Dark Souls 3 is objectively worse than the first game.
You need to learn the difference between objective and subjective, don't try to use words you don't understand.
