It sounds to me like you’re getting worn down by the first phase, so by the time you make it to second phase your concentration is shot and your timing is off.
I’d grab a few skills, perhaps in Ashina for deflection posture damage so you can quickly finish the first phase and not get fatigued before lightning phase. Also eat some candies in the fight for attack power, posture defense, and eel liver for lightning resistance.
The problem is I’ve already explored the other areas, and all the mini bosses are too difficult, I just want to finish this guy and actually progress the games story since I almost can’t do anything else
I’ve never had a Probably with the bow attack, I’m taking about the sword slash.
Lightning attack with sword can be catch. Just jump and take it with your face and R1 back to him.
His lightning swing is what makes the fight winnable, you counter it by jumping and pressing R1/RB/Mouse click, and he becomes vulnerable for free hits. His lighting attack is basically free damage.
Equip Ichimonji: Double. When he goes for a lightning move, CHARGE HIM. He fires it way over your head and misses completely, allowing you to punish him with a double ichi combo. Rinse, repeat, victory.
I had a LOT of trouble with him on Phase 1/2. Phase 3 took a few tries to get to. But once I had him dead to rights with the punishes, he was at half health when his posture broke and I secured victory.
