Unseen aid is useless
Becouse in game you almost always have way to retreat and don't let self die, although with boses you die lot of times and lose all your money and exp with unseen aid or without it.

It's not useless but it isn't far off it I'll give you that.

Random deaths against regular enemies (usually because I'm being a moron) really cost me but 30% is only ever a really handy 'oh nice'.

Bosses as you say, it doesn't really matter because once you know its there you can either fall back or only ever engage knowing you won't lose anything cos you just got a skill point and spent all your money.

Yeah, I have to agree with you there. The only time I found it useful was after I already "mastered" the game and rarely died in the first place. If I made a fatal mistake, it was like "Wow, thanks guys!" but once you learn the game those mistakes don't happen often.

Yep spind all the XP if possible and if you do not have nothing right off the bat you want to upgrade or buy you buy gold coin purses so when you die you really lose nothing but time and maybe a dragon tear to reverse Dragon Rot when you feel like it

I mean...kinda?

It's nice to sometimes recover your money and XP, but there comes a point where you'll start instinctively spending/banking it before new/problematic areas. (You can buy bags of money from merchants, which technically stores your money and prevents it from being lost) Just useful if you happen to be carrying a lot of money on you.

I feel like I always get unseen aid when I die with 5 sen in my pocket and 50 exp, since I had just died ten times in a row against whatever boss I was fighting anyway.

I've only had one time where a really significant amount of money and exp was saved because I got lucky and got unseen aid

Bank money by buying the coin purses before doing any bosses and obviously if you are close to 2-3 skill points just farm enemies for a bit and use the skill points before attempting the boss. There, now you have no xp left to lose and your money is safe in the purses. Easy.

What does using skill points have to do with anything? You only lose exp progress towards the next point.

Make sure you spend your money and your skill points before a boss fight. I usually will buy the gold sacks for insurance.

If you have 2 skill points and need 3 for a skill point. Do a little grinding to level to 3 and get the skill point and then go to the boss fight.

You don’t need to spend skill points.
If you die, you only lose half of your progress towards the next one. You can’t lose points you’ve earned.
