How the hell am I supposed to beat the Owl?
Seriously, with Genichiro and Guardian Ape I felt that I was slowly improving with every attempt, here it just feels tedious because of the huge posture bar and resistance. Maybe Im just not taking advantage of prosthetics, but I am at my wits end :/

wich owl is this? is this the the owl that you fight where Genichiro was?
if it's the one where genichiro is just remember that enemies with less health regain posture very slowly. in this fight owl dosnet have any moves that have that kanji symbol so you can safley just deflect literally everything, and just be extremley aggresive, an aggresive play style will melt owl.

here is my fight with him just do what i do owl is very easy if you know how to deflect and stay aggresive

also you dont need prostehtics for this battle at all

Go for his HP first and get it to like 50%. Then his posture bar will be much more manageable.

Bait the one attack where he throws shurikens, then jumps up for a overhead slash, just walk back and he'll miss you, then hit him once or twice or dodge attack into him and back again.

Keep doing this over and over again to hit his HP first. Once it's low, you can start deflecting his blows to build up posture bar. He's easy to deflect because of his slow blows.

You can do this tactic with both phases. It's very safe too once you get the hang of it.

Owl is a lot less straight forward than Genichiro.

One big thing you can do is stagger your R1 attacks. He likes to kick you, or jump away, or do a big swing when there's a gap in your attacks, so a lot of the time you'll catch him and interrupt him for some good damage

It's pretty much the same plan as with Genichiro, just get decent at parrying and keeping up the pressure.

Back-dodge his firecrackers, sidestep the overhead smash after shuriken, when he throws his Lloyd's Talisman either side step it or just keep wailing on him. Don't use thrust attacks against him.
He doesn't really have any particularly dangerous moves, I find his only annoying attack is when he throws the poison pool and jumps in your face.

He doesn't have any kanji moves but he does have 1 hit kill counters. While i was trying to be aggressive i did a thrust attack at him and he more or less did a mirikiri with a cutscene style animation and killed me in in one hit.
It doesn't help that the hitbox of his weapon has the width of a tree trunk and the range is half again the length of his sword.
I've watched all the videos and even then if i count yesterdays attempts with todays i must be on 30+ attempts now.

*Edit* Also i don't see how that guys attacks are so fast and how he's able to hit and damage Owl so much from the front because imo Sekiro has the slowest attacks of any character in the game, Owl can put out an entire combo in the time it takes Sekiro to make one slash.

the range of his attacks shouldnt matter if you are aggresive and if you deflect all attacks, just dont spam r1 because owl has armor on some attacks always be ready to deflect and remember when your enemy defects your sword go deflect asap becuase they will usually attack right after defecting one of your normal sword attacks

Ornstein and Smough are super easy by comparison, summon NPC to keep them occupied and kill one really quickly. Then use the pillars and bait out an attack, do some damage, then back to a pillar, rinse and repeat. The Owl is much more difficult.
