Get stuck flying the kite?
In the forest with the monks, when I fly the kite it won't let me let go of it. I can cycle through my quick items, but nothing else registers. Anyone else run into this bug?

It is. According to Sub reddit of Sekiro this bug is for people who did change their action button into something else. Best solution is to change buttons to default OR alt+f4 when you get stuck. The game will load back before you would get stuck.

I don't think people are reading what OP is saying. He's saying he literally cannot let go of the kite. You can manually rise the kite, even though this won't do anything. He interacted with it and now his character is physically unable to let go of the mechanism.

That does sound like a bug.

Correct, it says Y to let go, but hitting Y does nothing. Just curious if anyone else ran into this.

Very odd bug, definitely didn't encounter it and I tried using the kite probably around 3 times manually. Hoping restarting the game was able to fix it for you.

I have experienced the same issue. No matter what I did, my character was physically stuck and the only solution was to restart the game. It's definetly a bug in my opinion.

Sorry to bump but this might help someone.
I, too, changed the controller buttons but found out pressing "E" on keyboard fixed that issue (considering you didn't change the keyboard controls as well).
No need to alt + f4 or change the controller buttons to fix this.
this might work vice versa but not tested.

not a bug, spoiler: you use puppeteer on the nearby 'rat', he uses the mechanism honestly this "puzzle" is dumb, not a single time the game indicates such a game mechanic is even remotely possible.
"tee hee, but did you know that pouring beer on your keyboard unlocks secret level with all the bosses?"-tier puzzle

Dude, You don't even know what OP was talking about on this thread that you decided to suddenly necro like 1.5 year later thinking that you know better than him.

Well guess what - you don't.

OP was talking about AN ACTUAL BUG that was happening towards people who changed their action button on a controller.
I know that because I had this bug too. There was no solution for the bug other than change controlls back to default for a moment during this scene.

That or pressing an action button on the keyboard as Zerax did mention above which you would also knew if you did read this thread before posting your comment.

This bug did happen during both "puppeteer puzzle" and when you hide inside a carriage during first snake encounter.

Next time please read the thread before deciding to post on it. Or necro it.
