When do I go for the Purification ending?
I'm going to have to wait for NG+ since I think I'm now stuck in the Severance ending now but when do you start the process for the Purification ending?

Just so I can get it right the next time.

Just before the owl fight OR right after it. Just dont use the idol. I got myelf locked out of this somehow at my first playthrough.

You can start it anywhere from after beating the Owl to before beating the Divine Dragon. As long as Emma is in the same room as Kuro it is always possible to start the process to get the second bell.

See, I thought that, but Kuro would never go into the library so I can eavesdrop on him.

Unless he wasn't supposed to, and I just messed up...Either one is equally likely.

You don't eavesdrop on him when he goes into the library, you eavesdrop on Emma & Kuro when he's sitting in front of the incense burner.

Ah, okay, so it was a mess up on my end.

Well, equipped with more knowledge for NG+, I'll get the ending next time. Thank you for the information!

Query : After fighting Owl on Ashina Castle, I went in Owl's memory but halt in front of Father's fight. ('cause he's too darn strong) After that, I progressed through story, killed Divine Dragon, killed Demon of Hatred. The only boss left is the last boss (Saint Isshin).

At this point, can I still choose which ending (of 3, except Shura one) to go?

Well the only way to know is to kill Owl and bring flower to Emma.

Since you already unlocked the alternative Hirata Estate you should be able to still get the item required for Purification (the branch). After beating the end boss you will be able to choose whichever non-Shura ending you want to see.
