Seriously, how many tries does it take to kill this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Does anyone have any tips on how to cheese this fight somehow? I've been stuck on this stupid fight for the last 3 days.

If you mean for the lightning just jump to the sides you don't have to deflect them. If you can't parry him then yeah...git gud no other way

spam quickly block then hit 1-2 times, then when hi doing unblockable attack use mikiri-contr or jump )

Learn to parry and then get in some free hits. Also avoid the grab...but if you have double ichimonji combat art use that when he runs to do the grab so you hammer him twice with the sword. Use the mikiri counter when he does the thrust attack. Stay close to him the entire fight except to avoid the grab (unless you have double ichimonji). After you kill him twice, he will turn into lightning. Again stay close to him and parry and then get free hits in. Side step the lightning.

Just take your time and learn his moves... or take a break from him. I took a break and the next day i came back and absolutely rekt him i was only hit 3 times through the entire fight it felt good to master him to that level

some random tips:
Shuriken when he jumps for a bow shot (shurikins are meant to help counter jumps of all kinds)
Mikiri counter his thrusts
Jump sweeps then jump off his head before he recovers from the attack
Stay aggressive and keep the pressure on him dont let him breath and break his posture fast

No way to cheese it, but he is actually fairly predictable and only has about four things that he does.

- Big jump in the air is followed by a stab in phase 1, and a sweep in phase 2
- Basic overhead attack, sometimes followed by another one
- If he does a red symbol without jumping first, it's a stab
- If he jumps and its not over your head, he's gonna whip out his machine gun bow.
- And the one where he just does a big bow pull and shoots once.

In the third phase when you see him doing anything with lighting dodge to the sides, otherwise treat him just like previous phases.

One thing I found out is that if you get a rhythm going where you do two slashes, wait a quarter second, do two slashes, wait a quarter second, he'll try to do bow attacks during the delay and then your next attack will hit him out of it. Managed to do a lot of damage to him since those hits damage his vitality. If he doesn't do the bow attack then he's very likely to do the overhead attack which can be deflected and the timing will be easy to memorize since you're basically causing it to happen.

My strategy was to hit him 1-2 times which would consistently (for me) bait out his 1-2-3 cross-slash chain. Those were pretty slow and easy to parry. Then he'd follow up with either the overhead jump which I parried and he links it into a thrust which I Mikiri countered, or if not, he would do his quick backstep and draw his bow, so I'd follow and stagger him out of his bow attack with another quick hit. The key was basically to stay in his face the entire fight and not allow him to do anything but 1v1 with swords.

The second phase is identical except the overhead strike->thrust turns into overhead strike->sweep, so in phase two you do all the same motions except jump over the sweep rather than Mikiri counter.

If you need to cheese the fight, you aren't going to enjoy the rest of the game, because it only get more difficult.

So my legitimate advice is that you learn his patterns. I also suggest staying on the offensive, using shuriken combined with the attack-dash after throwing it to stay close to him so he can't easily use his bow. In his third phase, you can use lightning reversal to do massive damage to him and stun him so you can get in some extra attacks by jumping in the air then attacking him before you hit the ground once you get hit by the lightning.

He is a difficult boss to fight the first time through. You can jump on his head however when he does his sweep, and mikuri counter his stab, to get additional posture damage. Just build it up, be patient, and you'll beat him sooner or later.

There is no way to cheese him all the way. You can cheese him for the first 2 kills by doing double ichimonji all the way...but this takes a long time and doesn't work for the 3rd kill...also you will be very angry when you get killed in the 3rd stage because it will take soooo looong to cheese him in the first 2 kills using double ichimonji.

a little tip that helped me beat his 3rd phase, is when he does any lightning move, jump in the air. You will get electrocuted, but right as u land back down, tap R1.

When u land, and tapped R1, u then take almost no electricity damage, and u end up deflecting the electricity back at genichiro. He takes pretty massive damage from this, and is easily defeated after several successions.

just stay close to him cause the bow is more dangerous than his sword..parry parry parry till it's time to pierce him

Once you understand his moveset, you should be able to not even use a single healing potion in his first 2 phases.
The last phase is all about dodging his lightning attacks, but his posture meter goes up very fast, since he has no armor in this phase.
He should be totally easy by that point.

Take advantage of sprinting away from him, especially his grab. You can pretty much outrange his vertical and horizontal lighting slashes if you can't do well. Make use of those Gachin candy as well. Blue and Red are very useful for his last phase - the first two are fairly easy to cheese.
