Unamed Enemy guarding Mist Feather Prosthetic
I've just started and have killed a couple of minibosses, but am not very far into the game. During the Ashina dream, I've run through to the point of the burning building and discovered the temple with this prosthetic and have cheesed it to get the actual item.

For the life of me; however, I cannot beat the unnamed swordsman guarding it. I've tried 20 or 30 times. I can sort of see his pattern, but I can't create enough space to take advantage of the tells. Should I just ignore this enemy? Does it give a prayer bead or anything?

Doesn't drop anything worthwhile.

Its a late game enemy there, basically to tell you to come back later or to get good enough to defeat him with low attck power and vit
Well, come back later it is. I've had him going for a bit, but I can't close the deal.

Thanks.
Get the feather then peace out. Not worth fighting him.

It's a good practice tbh because later there will be tons of these everywhere. I killed him finally in about 20-30 tries and he was probably harder that the location's main boss at that time.
I can't believe I've had to waste the cure this early over this lol.

It’s possible to beat him at this point but very difficult. You’ll get plenty of practice later on in the game, dontcha worry :D

Just rush in to get the item and run away. I didn't bother to fight him until later when I got some nice skills going for me and found he drops noting special.

The only thing worth about that enemy is he drops a lot of Sen/XP. But as others said you can fight him way later. Best to just grab the upgrade and leave since he technically isn't a miniboss.

If you want to kill him stay on the wooden floor behind the house and put the house between you 2. (He has a hard time staying on it) Then press crouch a few times till he gets yellow and finally neutral. And now you go BACKSTABY ;)

I think I know who are you talking about... I tried 3-5 times and finally just run to the door, open (:praisesun: i-frames ) grab it and run! :cupcakeelf:

Just run in there grab the prosthetic and leave. He can't interrupt your door opening animation (in fact in any of these animations you have I-frames so that goes for all doors) so if you just get him behind the shrine your good to run back to the door and open it and grab the thing.

The unnamed purple swordsman is an Interior Ministry ninja. Basically he's a regular enemy from the late game but found early on.

I beat him after about half a dozen attempts after taking out Lady Butterfly (so I was on 2 Attack Power). He isn't that bad once you figure out his attacks, the main thing is to not take the red kanji attacks to the face and react to them properly.

As people have said, theoretically you should beat him before being able to get the Mist Raven reward but you can get it without bothering. I had no idea what was in the area to loot so I just saw it as a challenging opponent to better. Up to you if you care about the victory.

All I'll say is, its good practice.
