Loaded Spear inaccessible after defeating final boss

I didn't pick up the loaded spear throughout my playthrough, however when coming back for it after defeating the final boss, the area with the spear in it is blocked off by the fire, is there any way to get it other than going to ng+?

You could check if you are able to reach the area through the abandoned dungeon. I don't know if you can get there the other way around but from the place you are locked in at the beginning you can go to the dungeon.

Turns out any key items that you become unable to get to are available to be purchased at the shrine box next to the training guy, ty for the suggestions though
