Jump + block —> attack
Stay away from him in his last phase. He'll dash towards you with an unblockable. Miriki counter it. He uses it a lot so all you gotta do is walk away from him to bait it out.
If he starts using a lightning attack just jump dodge.
Imo staying range was what got me killed the fastest most of the time though that may be just me being bad at gaming lol.
So I went more aggressively and went all in with more jumping around than the 2 first phases because he does a lot more unblockables. You can reserve the lightning but its a pain to do and not necessary. I recommend to get used to his attacks first by keeping distance and just jump around like crazy
That's the strat for 1-2 phases, when he perform jump attack - it's always gonna transition into 1 of 2 perilous attacks - stab(perfect opportunity for Mikiri counter) or sweep(easy to jump over and maybe get in some hits of your own), how to tell which one it is - after landing if he seems to be turning around(you see his back briefly when smoke disperses) - that's a sweep, a stab is telegraphed by sword gleam.
3rd phase ALWAYS starts with stab attack, so Mikiri counter, otherwise the only difference is lightning attacks, easier way from what i heard is to dodge lightning shot by dashing directly beneath him, or jump over to his right if it's a sweep attack.
Lightning counter works as such - jump>receive attack>attack while still mid-air, otherwise you'll receive full brunt if you land before making an attack, you don't need to defend, receive lightning - then make perform a simple attack before landing. The key to this is to jump RIGHT BEFORE the impact so you'll have time to make your own attack.
No lightning jump required. Only some rare mikiri or jump dodge.
