No. There is very little cheese with actualy bosses in Sekiro other then the true monk. You just got to tank the deaths... No magic, to cheesing with poison, just banging ur head into that wall until it falls.

If he uses a lightning attack, jump and press attack midair to return the attack to him. It is highly effective. Other than that, phase 3 is basically more of the same.

Jump + block —> attack

His first two phases is just a git gud situation, but 3rd phase I can actually give you a semi cheese.

Stay away from him in his last phase. He'll dash towards you with an unblockable. Miriki counter it. He uses it a lot so all you gotta do is walk away from him to bait it out.

If he starts using a lightning attack just jump dodge.

I FORGOT ABOUT SOMETHING. He uses lighting so jump and intentionally get hit by it, theres a skill you can get that lets you redirect lighting if you are struck in the air maybe that will help?

lightning reversal does a lot of damage to him you can try to keep your distance and bait it,not sure if it works thou just a tought i had

His first 2 phases are pretty easy and feels like Lady Butterfly all over again(Which is awesome). His 3rd phase now... This phase took me over 5 hours since I was too used to his patterns from the 1st 2 phases and he kept one shotting me with the lightning whenever I got to the phase. That said try to counter his lightning whenever possible and stay close to him. That lightning reversal was what won me the fight in the end.

Imo staying range was what got me killed the fastest most of the time though that may be just me being bad at gaming lol.

Just beat him an hour ago. Just try to finish the first 2 phases with minimum flask usage. It also helps to do some of the other areas first to stack up on seeds and hp improvements if you can. In phase 3 I tried keeping my distance and punish the strange plunge attack he does. However getting hit by the lightning pretty much meant game over.
So I went more aggressively and went all in with more jumping around than the 2 first phases because he does a lot more unblockables. You can reserve the lightning but its a pain to do and not necessary. I recommend to get used to his attacks first by keeping distance and just jump around like crazy

just go ham on him, once you get the rhythm it's easy, and if you can return a lightning hit he's pretty much toast.

Deflect-Attack-Deflect
That's the strat for 1-2 phases, when he perform jump attack - it's always gonna transition into 1 of 2 perilous attacks - stab(perfect opportunity for Mikiri counter) or sweep(easy to jump over and maybe get in some hits of your own), how to tell which one it is - after landing if he seems to be turning around(you see his back briefly when smoke disperses) - that's a sweep, a stab is telegraphed by sword gleam.

3rd phase ALWAYS starts with stab attack, so Mikiri counter, otherwise the only difference is lightning attacks, easier way from what i heard is to dodge lightning shot by dashing directly beneath him, or jump over to his right if it's a sweep attack.

Lightning counter works as such - jump>receive attack>attack while still mid-air, otherwise you'll receive full brunt if you land before making an attack, you don't need to defend, receive lightning - then make perform a simple attack before landing. The key to this is to jump RIGHT BEFORE the impact so you'll have time to make your own attack.

theres an eel item that you get that i think reduces electricity damage. you take it like any of the other items. when you see the red kanji, just jump and hit the attack button. it'll shoot the thunder back at him. if your out of range it wont do anything but you also wont be affected (shooting it back still damages you but only minor damage).

Geni is one of the easiest bosses. The key is being aggressive all the time. You can just spam r1 until he jumps. Dodge and spam r1 again. Once you see him running and preparing his fast rush attack try to spam parry pause.. and parry the last hit of his move. That should break his posture and you can deathblow him. Works on all phases.

No lightning jump required. Only some rare mikiri or jump dodge.

do the one thing that you should never do in the soulsborne series. Be super aggressive. This works best against him.
