Can't hand the Shelter Stone to Kuro (Solved)

So,I've beaten the corrupted monk and got the stone, as well as collecting everything else and killing Owl, but whenever I try to talk to Kuro, all I can do is ask him about the stone when I've already got it. Am I just really stupid and missing something obvious or is this some game ending bug?

Yeah, I'd done all these things, the stone was one of the first things I found so I hadn't been able to give it to him for several hours, but I thought maybe I'll give it to him later in the plot. Anyway, I found a fix if anyone else encounters this issue, I ended up retracing my steps from the bottomless hole all the way to where I picked up the stone, interacting with everything I saw in case I missed some kind of trigger, and that sorted it out for me, now I can give him the stone

I think you just have to travel to the "Bottomless Hole" Idol and then back to kuro again. This is what solved the problem for me.
