Sekiro Crashing in Abandoned Dungeon

I've encountered a critical error crash. It seems to happen whenever I try to go challenge the fight that appears at the end of the surgeon quest line. Underwater Passage Statue and beyond in the water before you can get to the dock is a 100% crash every time. A friend and I at the same spot in the quest line have confirmed it.

I have the exact same issue. It's making me avoid that place in fear of it corrupting my save file.

Sorry to hear that is happening but thank you so much for reporting it (same to you Shinnok). Do you get a critical error crash message or any kind of error message? Also, have you tried any potential troubleshooting like Verify Integrity, restarting your PC, or just even updating your drivers?

What happens when you crash, does it drop you to desktop, give you a blackscreen, or what exactly? The more details the better so we can report it up accurately. Lastly, could you grab a screenshot of this specific spot (right before it crashes)?

Unfortunately, I don't have the error information because in my case there is no pop-up message after the crash.

I do have a screenshot of the place where it occurs however:

This is right next to the Underground Waterway idol. Moving around in its proximity or entering the water makes the game stutter for a few seconds before crashing to desktop.
Re-installing drivers and verifying game files didn't seem to help.

Again, this only started to occur after advancing through Doujun's quest.

I had the crash as well. Could reproduce it quite consistently. It happens when you trigger the Doujun's fight. Retreat to the idol nearby (i think its called underwater something). And then try to return to the fight. The game crashes.

Edit: For me it simply closed to Desktop

Edit2: It only happened for me when i returned from that specific direction. If i warped to the temple idol and returned from the other side i had no problems

i have been crashing on loading my save today it restarts steam and discord aswell after it crashes im reinstalling sekiro and hoping it fixes the crashing havnt changed anything since last night when i last played
