There is a youtuber and twitch streamer called EpicNameBro - he has been working on the Dark Souls and Sekiro Guide books and essentially provides you with a free guide vids. (It is not me) - I would say after watching his videos - its still hard, but doable.

Even when you learn him, the boss is garbage. Stick in a corner and try to stop him from running, you can deflect the horns despite all of the other attacks in the game that cannot be parried. Firecracker is your friend, has a random chance or working, but can be used behind the bull so it's a little give and take.

firecrackers are still a thing that you can use that explicitly state "will mess up animals" in the description. Just remember that there's a recovery period so you can't just stunlock the boss with it.

Apparently the mist raven feathers are good against it too but they're guarded by a much more difficult enemy.

You can sprint faster than him, so simply hold that dodge button and go ham on his ass.

Firecrackers are handy as well.

Just run at him.

Use firecrackers if you can't catch up to him.

Stay on his ass (literally) and hit it whenever he stops to turn around.

That's all. It's a long and tedious process but it works.

I was having trouble and then learned a bit more. He is a pain in the ass. After I got an idea for how I would fight him I worked at it for a while but it takes forever with my method. I looked for tips or a video. There is a cheese method to defeat him, and then a slightly real method to defeat him, and then the intended way to beat him that the developers haven't noticed that no one does.

Cheese method involves placement, if you stand in the right position relative to the bull, it's attacks won't hit you and you can smack him several times and then reposition. I left out the details because it really is just a cheese method.

The slightly real method involves the fact that if you keep yourself running, you can pretty much out maneuver all of it's attacks. It's tough to get hits in though because it doesn't slow down enough. It will also occasionally just bypass the whole attack animation or do it's double attack and shift position during the double attack and hit you even though you are dodging or out of range.

The intended method is to actually dodge it's attacks and use the dodge follow up attack to do damage. First issue is that it's attacks are ridiculously tough to dodge, and the second issue is that the follow up attack hits maybe one out of three times.

Make sure you have the firecracker prosthetic, if you don't have it you can buy it from the one merchant by the ashina gate.

Use the firecrackers for free hits, stay as close to it as possible and strafe left. When you're behind it it does one of two things:
- A slow sideways swing, dodge left and keep swinging
- A charge forward, get ready to use firecrackers again and dodge behind it

Unless it has the red glowy sign, every attack in the game can be deflected

best tip - do not lock onto it, always run to it's side when it tries to stop and change direstion and slash it, bull can't do anything

They also say a couple of times that flaming attacks and poison attacks can't be fully defelected and that they definitely can not be blocked. So make sure that if you try deflection to get the deflection right or you are going to get murdered.

With the exception of thrust attacks. Those can't be guarded but deflected.

Sprint around it clockwise, attack when you find and opening and otherwise use the firecrackers to stun it to get a heavy combo in. Not that hard. Just don't stand around and try to guard. Always move.

Mate i beat him by simply spamming him and jump doging only keeping to one side, its really broken rn and can exploit his repetitive AI. GOOD LUCK!

Right right, I've been using the mikiri counter so long I forgot thrust attacks can be deflected
